To all

Is there any interest in a travel section on UHH?

Use the "Field of Dreams" principle - If you build it, they will come.
I think you proposed a section many UHHs are interested. Just go start the section.
I will sign up. Sincerely, Andrew

[quote=slcarn]I have a feeder near the front of our house. There are small trees in the area and some nice red flowers, in season, in the garden.

Steve, Excellent shots. Thanks for sharing.

About the fourth picture: Are they greeting each other? Or fighting? I wonder.

At a young 84 I find I am no longer able to hold my D750 steady

At a "young" 89, I certainly feel the weight of my Nikon D750 and 24-120mm lens combination. The weight curtailed my shooting trips, outing durations, carrying additional lenses in the backpack, etc. Not willing to abandon my hobby, I developed my adjustment plan.

After careful research, I bought a Nikon Z50 with a FTZ. This combination weighs about 18 oz. and allows me to use all my Nikon lenses. Z50 has a 20.9MP DX-Format CMOS Sensor and the usual array of controls. I am certain Z50 will meet my current and future needs/growth. So far I am very happy with this setup. I plan to use Z50 a few more weeks to ensure I am happy with this combination. My next step is to sell my D750 and D7500 bodies.

I realize that everyone has her/his own requirements/conditions. One's solution may not fit to others.
I just like to share my solution to such a difficult situation. I feel that I have three areas in common with hogilbert, i.e. using Nikon D750, bothered by equipment weight and "young" age.

Best Regards.

Wayne, Excellent image. Very well done. Thanks for posting. It certainly encourages me to try one someday, maybe at a location not that faraway. Regards, AndrewS

In 1956, I bought a Yashicaflex twin-lens reflex camera in Yokohama on my way to this country. It was a simple all-mechanical camera, because of its simplicity there is no metering system to go bad, no old batteries to leak/rust, etc.

Recently I found it in one of my storage boxes, I was surprised I did not throw it away.
Now I am tempted to try it out. I have difficulty in buying just one roll of 120mm color negative film. I tried B&H and Adorama in NYC.

I would appreciate it very much if someone can give me some leads/suggestions.

Hi Greer,

Beautiful catch! Congratulations.
About what time you took that shot? Just curious. Thanks.

So, Nikon is having a sale until Friday on the D750 for $1,497. I think I can trade my D610 in ....

Hi Chris981, Here is my 2-bits. Hope it will help you make a wise decision.

First of all the Nikon D750 sale price of $1,497 includes the body plus a free bonus of four items (total value $459.88) - Nikon MB-D16 Multi Battery Power Pack; Watson Watson EN-EL15 Lithium-Ion Battery Pack (7.0V, 1900mAh); Ruggard Journey 34 Shoulder Bag (Black); SanDisk 64GB Extreme UHS-I SDXC Memory Card.

Secondly, I bought the Nikon D750 from B&H on May 3, 2017. Before that I was using a Nikon D610. For my interests and skill level I was totally satisfied with the D610. But this deal was just too good to pass. Besides, I always wanted to use a power grip (it’s a Nikon). I jumped on the offer after a long hesitation of 27 microseconds. Needless to say I am very happy with my new setup.

I really hope you will see my reply in time. B&H deal ends on June 3, 2017.

..... Nikon DX owners, what would be your personal Holy Trinity of Lenses? .....

I agree with the reply offered by GoofyNewfie dated 04/02/17. I use the Nikon 17-55mm f2.8 DX lens with Nikon D300s body.
I am very happy with this combination. When I save enough fund and catch the GAS bug, I might upgrade to a Nikon D500 body with proper approval by the higher authority.

...... listed at a ridiculous price, thanks fellow Hogs.

That "ridiculous" price is probably not a typo, price gouging, nor for a signed first-edition. It is a convenient way for the vendor to say that book is temporarily out of stock. Because it will be easier for the vendor to delist and relist the ad when the book becomes available and may even avoid paying relisting fees.

My response may be off your original subject a bit. But I thought this information may be worth sharing with you and all Hoggers.

Happy clicking!

This response might be off the subject matter a bit. But, this time lapse video is extremely interesting. Extremely interesting
in several aspects: compression ratio- 20 years to 10 second; distance to the subject- here to the center of our galaxy- about
26,000 lightyears; the story of this video: showing effect of gravity pull by our black hole, etc.

The video clip is from today’s VOX Trending section, Jan. 11, 2017. The link is:

I wonder what kind of tripod was used. :)
