I had a similar problem trying to identify a small Blue Bird in my driveway; fortunately I was able to get a Picture of it because it was injured. I posted it to several of my former students. One of them told me he knew it to be "A Blue Indigo Bunting", he and his wife are bird watchers. He said it is not common to see one in Connecticut. He suggested I search the Internet which I did and found a link(Birds of North America) that listed almost every bird imaginable. Give it a try you might be in luck.

Yes, I do connect to the Internet each day. I really have no problem doing so. I get several Spam links however, McAfee filters them out.

Every suggestion are great. Now, it will be up to you to use the power of persuasion to convince your daughter to follow them. Good Luck doing that.

Better to be safe before, than sorry after the wedding. Although she might think she is honoring you it might be nest for you to tell her, "honey, thank you but I would rather hire a professional photographer and watch him/her do their job from, The Head Table.

Another reason you can give, "Who will walk you down the aisle" if I have to take the pictures?

Considering her infirmities, if she is a novice, I don't recommend a Camera with extra gadgets. A lens hood to block out glare, for a beginner should be sufficient to start with. There are cameras that have a combination lens eg: for normal/telephoto/panorama shooting. Also consider her budget.

There are several Labs, the will convert slides and filmstrips and Copy them to a DVD for you at a reasonable price. You will have to search for them in your Browser. Somehow, I lost the address for the Lab I used. I do remember it is located in Georgia.

I also have many slides and films that i have been scanning over the years. I purchased a VuPoint scanner Model FS-C1-VP. I'm not sure if it is still on the market. It came with a DVD and two trays, one for slides and one for film however, the one I have is for Windows XP. This indicates that I have an old Computer, that workd for my purpose. Good luck in your search.
