Are you definitely pressing the OK button to confirm format, not just the centre button in the menu control. ( Done that myself).

Me too..no more MPB.
I live in NY City.
Went to MPB a few years ago, showed them a lens I wanted to sell.
They examined it, and then told me they would sent me an email quote
That seemed strange, why not give the quote to me there.
Got the quote...it was ok.
Brought the lens back to them with a copy of the email.
They then said they gave me too high a quote and wanted to lower it by $10.
I walked out of the place!!

They only recently started trading in the states, as far as I am aware they are online only, no "walk in option".

Just search 'super glue remover/debonder'. Should find on ebay. Careful not to get any solvents on front of lens!!

Hi, I have my problem fixed.
It was one of the electric contacts not making 100% contact.
I mentioned your problem to the tech that fixed mine he said more than likely its the same thing.
Hope yours is as simple as mine.
I spent the day putting it through every test i could think of, works perfect.
Best of luck with it.
And stay safe out there, seems people around here are getting more and more stupid as the days go by.

Hello, thanks for the info, I did give the contacts on both the camera and lens a clean but made no difference. Was the poor contact on the camera or the lens?
I'm in the UK and we are just coming out of the first phase of the lock down, I'm not sure it's a good idea!

cheers

Hi thanks for getting back to me. It's a strange one, all my other lens are ok including a Tamron 100 - 400mm.
I bought my G2 back in 2017 have upgraded to the current firmware when it was released and had no issues until just before my original post on here. It is almost as if there is a miscommunication of sorts between the camera and lens. I have checked and cleaned the contacts on both units to no avail.

keep safe

Hi

Just had another look at the lens, noticed when zoomed past 550mm aperture goes from f6.3 to f5.0 then f7.1 at 600mm then the focus hunting occurs. Should stop at 6.3. Tried downgrading the firmware on my D500 but that made no difference.

Hi,
I have the same lens, i read your post but had no problems with mine,,,, until last night.
When mine showed the same symptoms as yours.
It works perfect on my D7200 but not so on my D810 on it, it acts the same as yours.
I am going to do some more testing and double checking this afternoon. If you find out anything please post your findings I will do the same.

Hi

Thanks for the info, I have put the lens aside until the lock down is over and I can get to my local camera store to verify the problem. I would certainly be interested and grateful if you come to any conclusions.
In the meantime good luck and keep safe.

Thank you everyone for all your suggestions/comments. Pretty much tried everything apart from another camera or G2. Will wait until my local camera shop reopens (where I buy my gear), and get a confirmation it is definitely the lens not the camera before I send it in. Lord knows when that will be..

Keep safe everyone.

Hi

Has not been dropped or banged. very light use. Still under warranty. I think I'll wait until we get back to some sort of normality returns before I send it in..

Hi all

I have a problem with a Tamron 150-600 G2 lens, used on a Nikon D500. The lens has worked fine up until now. What happens is when zoomed fully to 600mm the autofocus hunts rapidly, never able to lock, if I back the zoom off slightly it achieves lock and is also ok through the rest of the range. I have the camera set up for BBF. Have tried resetting the camera and resetting the lens to default via Tamron tap in unit, lens has latest Firmware. In Live view mode the lens does not hunt so much but still does not achieve good focus at 600mm.
all my other lens work ok, including a Tamron 100-400. I don't have access to another camera to try the lens on, local camera store closed because of lock down. Any suggestions out there in case I am missing something? Otherwise I guess it's back to Tamron.

cheers
