I was hoping they'd have chosen something a bit closer to green screen color. That would have made it much more interesting to watch.

Isn't ISO 64 someone else's ISO 100.

I never shot too much film, but when I would choose an ASA/ISO it was for speed of capture and also grain. Today's film analog is the image sensor which is a fixed value with pixel size determining the well depth and the processor (read amplifier) determining the quality of the captured image.

To me, ISO 64 is the same as marking a volume control with an 11.

There is also a substantial difference in price. D5=$6,500 and the D850=$3,300.

I think a D5 at wedding would be overkill while a D850 might be perfect. A D850 at F1 or motocross might not be ideal whereas a D5 would do just nicely.

Different cameras for different chores.

I started to have 'ghosting' in my vision, especially when looking at flat lighted backgrounds like a overcast sky or monochrome wall. I thought I had cataracts and went to two different ophthalmologists who both diagnosed cataracts. I had a third ophthalmologist perform the surgery, one eye at a time. (I woke up during the second surgery with an instrument stuck in my eye, but no problems).

After a complete recovery, my prescription did not change enough to have another set of lenses ground and I have been wearing the same pair that were ground about 5 years ago.

The ghosting remained after the cataract surgery and a subsequent examination by a VA optometrist told me the vitreous in both eyes was clouding due to age (I am 70 now).

Moral of the story: it was premature to have the cataracts removed as the real issue was a clouding of the vitreous which is not repairable.

Looks like maybe a new-born fence lizard. I had one run up my arm one day when I was picking a flower. It was about 1 3/4" long.

As for starving in your hose - unless you are the most cleanliest of homemakers, your little lizard would probably do just fine.

A very nice image of a feeder stream to the now barren Owens Valley. Owens Lake was once a beautiful high desert lake that was drained of its water by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. Watch the Movie 'Chinatown' for a bastardized history of the water theft.

A larger pixel will gather more light per exposure cycle than a smaller pixel per similar exposure cycle.

The pixel area for a Sony A9 is 34.93 µm² and the pixel area for a Sony A6000 is 15.05 µm² meaning that for a similar timed exposure, the Sony A9 pixel will gather more photons than the smaller A6000 pixel.

Noise is a function of how the internal processor handles individual pixel noise from electronic, spurious photons and thermal sources.

How the camera handles the increased information is determined by the internal processor the manufacturer installs in the camera.

Nice framing on the unopened leaves. Most of the images I have seen of yellow dahlias move away from a green cast to a yellow/golden cast.

If you are flying into Albuquerque and renting a car and still have a little hippy left in you, then take Hwy 14 (Turquoise Trail) and visit the old coal mining/ghost town of Madrid. You will spend a couple of hours simply imaging the folk art on display in the many front yards of the residents who are still there. I like the Mine Shaft Tavern for a good cheeseburger and brew.

Great image.

(Sorry for the following:)

Why are firetrucks red?
Quote:

Firetrucks have 4 wheels and carry 8 men.
4 + 8 = 12
There are 12 inches in a ruler.
Queen Elizabeth was a ruler.
There was once a ship named Elizabeth that sailed the seas.
Fish live in the seas.
Fish have fins.
People from Finland are called Fins.
Finland and Russia had a war a long time ago.
Russia has red on its flag.
And that's why they're red.
Cause they're always russian around.

Given the rate of loss increases with the value of the equipment - I can not think of any reason to not insure your gear - FOR REPLACEMENT COST.

The question becomes what is covered, where and when is it covered and what is replacement value if the piece of gear is no longer in production.

Although I have never had to insure photo gear, I did insure my general contractor tools. I found that I could not insure the tools for replacement value (commercial use) whereas if I listed the tools on my homeowner's policy, I could list them for replacement value.

Make sure you read the ENTIRE policy and demand the entire policy and not just the highlights. If the insurers won't supply the entire policy as submitted to the state insurance commissioner, I would look elsewhere. The devil IS in the details.

I have a 2016 ACER laptop with an i3-7100, 8Gb RAM and a SATA drive. I try to run with Swap Files but if I have LR CC and PS CC open with two D90 .nef files, the laptop asks for more memory and I decided to return to a swap file on the laptop.

I rebuilt my desktop earlier this year with an i5-7xxx, 16Gb of RAM and SATA drives. It simply does not bog down. I have a ASUS MB with Intel 620 Graphics. I have a big case, big power supply and three fans that run very quiet all day.

If I were doing a lot of HQ video editing, I might opt for an I7-7xxx or a couple of Xeons on a good board.

The new ownership of the Warriors have a magic checkbook and attitude. In addition to spending money to build a team that is more than two players deep, they also acquired coaches and managers, each capable of leading the team.

Steve Kerr has been sidelined with a back injury and a surgical error for much of the last half of the season. Brown simply stepped in when Kerr couldn't and kept the team together to finish with the best record in the NBA. They are current 12-0 in playoff games this season and their is a good chance they may go 16-0 with a win over the Cavaliers (although that is unlikely, the should win the league title).
