How do I make money from a legit celebrity nude?

I have acquired the original b&w negative. The (female) subject is now a movie star. The photo, a nude, was made in 1985 when the woman turned 19. (Well before she became famous). Along with the negative, I also now own the model release and copyright and any other rights.

I would like to make some bucks, but this situation is new to me.

- Limited edition prints?
- Screen image onto T-shirts?
- License image for posters?

I’d appreciate suggestions, and pointers to useful articles and sites.

Note: I do not expect opposition nor cooperation from the celebrity.

So, in spite of all of the acknowledgements of sexual harassment in the news the last few weeks you have reinforced that nothing has really changed. Thanks for r minding me. Though this is not out right harassment as you came by these photos legally and with rights attached. However, ethics is above the law. Why do you need to exploit the all knowing experience of a 19 year old who was probably coerced in the first place. Find a more ethical way to make money. Since it is pretty dumb to post such a question publicly I am guessing that you are really merely looking for reaction, not real advice. Silly me for feeding your appetite

Did you accidently move the lock lever under the directional button? Marked "L"

So, GoofyNewfie, this proves the value of a historical search on this site. After a good year of getting know my very beloved d7200 I did not realize that “L” locked my focal points. In finally taking the time to research why my focal point would not move I found your answer from years ago...and, of course, that was exactly my resolution! Clearly, I have more to learn on this camera, still learning and still in love with it! Thanks!

Boom. And I assume that once you upgrade to High Sierra, NIK is gone for good as it is no longer being supported or updated.

After both upgrading to Classic CC and High Sierra I was able to reactivate NIK by reinstalling it and following burkphoto's advice posted above in this thread.

On a Mac:

Check the Applications folder > Adobe Photoshop CC 2017 folder > Plug-Ins folder > Google folder to be sure you have a folder containing each of your Nik Plug-Ins.

Then be sure you go to Lightroom>Preferences>External Editing and set up each plug-in there.

Also, if you use the Nik tools stand-alone apps, they should be in the Applications folder > Nik Collection folder.

Burkphoto - thank you for your persistence. Nik is now working for me. Thanks for your help!

Yes, works fine. BUT I did have to reinstall it.

Nik no longer works for me after upgrading to CC Classic. I reinstalled Nik but with no luck. I finally started looking at Luminar and now waiting for Luminar 2018 to get same effects as NIK

Another program to consider is Luminar. Luminar 2018 will include an indexing feature, or DAM. It will be released in November. I will be switching over from Creative Cloud when luminar 2018 becomes available. I have tried Affinity but I do like the ease of use when a program has a catalogue feature.

The statue removal is not about slave ownership. It is about promoting racist attitudes and fear in people of color. Most of the statues were placed during the era of Jim Crow by groups that wanted to keep people of color "in their place" when more equal rights were being won. In case you don't know when the US practiced Jim Crow, we are talking about 1896-1953. These laws promoted racial segregation. These statues were placed to celebrate racial segregation and oppression. In a country as diverse as ours why celebrate racial oppression?

I'm an intermediate photographer and probably not even an advanced one. As it is now I've read tons of books, listened to a thousand hours of instructive videos and bought at least 5 five course on photography. I started as an absolute beginner about 3 years ago. I'm now at a point where I am buying instructional material that spends a lot time going over stuff I already know. What's next? What books or other instructive material would help me get to the next level. I'm already studying books on art but I don't know if I have the best ones for photography. Please advise?

As a lifelong photographer with a fine arts degree I am relearning and adjusting to digital photo making and post processing. After all my reading and practice I am putting myself back in the practice of the art student by having my work critiqued. I joined several camera clubs and routinely participate in competitions. Even as the judges are critiquing other photographers ' work I am learning. Join camera clubs, put your work out there for other eyes to see. Sometimes it takes another person's perspective for you to see where you can grow

I use the newest iPad Pro and Mac Pencil. I was on my way to purchasing a Cintiq until I learned, here on UHH, that this combo works well. In addition, if you have adobe creative cloud you automatically get the PS and LR apps. I am able to do most editing on iPad and send directly to PS or LR if I think it is necessary.

I am also leaning on the iPad Pro more and more vs my MacBook. In fact, it has become such a great substitute that I am able to delay a purchase of the new MacBook.

Hope this helps

Hi---just joined UHH and hope to learn a few things. I'm an amateur who snaps landscapes and animals and sometimes food. Regards to all.

Welcome to UHH! This site is a staple for learning for me. I, too, live in North Jersey and have found additional learning through camera clubs. NJ has a slew of good ones to choose from, visit and see where you fit best. Go to the NJ Federation of Camera Clubs to find one near you- www.njfcc.org. Every club provides opportunities to hear free or low cost speakers and photo excursions to enhance your skills. Also, build your courage to join the competitions. You will learn how to enhance your skills with most judges' comments. Enjoy!

I know it's probably a bit contradictory, but I am looking for a good Carbon Fiber Tripod for my wife that is lightweight but sturdy. She is currently using a Manfrotto 3021B with 488RC2 head but is finding that a bit too heavy. Typical use is with Nikon D750 and 80-400mm VR lens. Trying to find something less than 3 pounds with a maximum height of about 59" without center column extended. There is always Gitzo, but wondering about recommendations for Manfrotto, Sirui or others that will meet her needs. Folded length less than 24" to fit in a suitcase.

Check out MePhoto Roadtrip, two versions- aluminum and carbon fiber. CF is 3.7 pounds. This tripod is made for travel and folds up to 15/16 inches. I have the aluminum version and have found it to be lightweight enough to carry long distances as well as sturdy enough for rough, uneven terrain. http://www.mefoto.com/products/globetrotter.aspx
