Hopefully, the monsoon will begin to stir the atmosphere and break down the heat dome over southern Arizona.
At sunset i was setting up for some possible lightning shots. The sky was pink as I set up looking north. the Strike Finder went off and captured this.
Nice photos Steve. In #1, and just personal preference, I crop out the blurred flowers in lower left corner. the colors and the blur take one's eye away from the beautiful bird. Lastly there is a good amount of noise in the photo, also a distraction, which can be eliminated with some of the new AI programs hitting the market.

Artist Dale Lamphere, had three Native American women as models for his creation. The figure, named Dignity, proclaims the Native cultures of South Dakota are alive and standing strong with Dignity.
A sculpture at the Chamberlain, SD rest area. It was commissioned for the 125th anniversary of SD statehood. Located on a hill above the Missouri River.
The first rains and storms usually show up in Tucson on or about July 4th each year. Today was the start for Monsoon 2020. I was able to capture these with a Strike Finder 2, precision camera trigger.
www.strikefinder.photo. I got about 20 photos in 30 minutes; these are a couple of the best. The cell passed about 8 miles west southwest of our location. Time of day was around 4:30 p.m.
The fire has consumed 82K acres in the Catalina Mountains on the North side of Tucson, AZ. The fire was initiated by a lightning strike 3 weeks ago. In those 3 weeks Tucson has seen daily winds from the Southwest with afternoon wind speeds of 20 to 30 mph at times and temps above 103ยบ. There are over 1200 firefighters working this fire with assists from above by numerous type and size aircraft. The photo was taken from 35 miles away at 8:30 pm.

As we travel we will pick-up small trinkets from the area we're visiting. This all started when we traveled to Alaska and picked up some small Fetish carvings. We also began to pick up local mini baskets and pottery.
It was a rainy afternoon the other day so a took some still life photos of some of out purchases.
