I got the same reply about a lens I turned in for a rebate last week. Turns out I checked back a couple days later at the same site and it said that it is "in process". Still waiting.........

Rumors are that the new 5Ds will be almost the same price as the 5Dmiii so you should check out that camera first of all

Thanks JPL, now here I go thinking of the 5D series again.

jpopo I have T1i, T2i & 60D. I just added the 6D plus 24-105 L f/4. I have had lots of the EFs lenses especially the premiums. But I wanted to try the FF. I will be selling of some bodies and EFs lenses. I will keep the 60D & EFS 15-85 & 10-22.

I love the 6D & 24-105. I do miss the UWA of the EFs 10-22.

I hope to add 16-35 f/4 L & or 14 mm Korean lens before spring.

I just returned from shooting at dusk. The lowlight capabilities of the 6D are remarkable. It is nice to shoot with one lens. I do have EF 50, 85, 100, & a DO 70-300mm. It seems that my style is toward medium to UWA.

Thanks so much for your input on my quote and not to take anything away from the OP, I just bought the 24-105L f4 this past December taking advantage of a sale and like you "love this lens". Prior to that I bought the EF 24 f2.8 IS USM to satisfy my wide angle needs. I can't wait to get it on a FF to actually have 24mm capabilities. I'm going to try renting the 6D when the weather gets warmer to see how it performs for me.

Great topic Boxerdognaz, I myself have the T3i and been wanting to go to a full frame. I have both EF and EF-S lenses in my bag, so in no way would get rid of the T3i. I shoot everything as far as subject matter and I really enjoy the idea of getting great shots in low light. Do I spend the bucks and get the 5DIII or get the 6D and have money leftover for some "good" glass? It's great reading the quality replies from our UHH'S to help me make my own decision. Thanks again for the post!

Nothing was said about gray market and it's too late to return it. I got it last September . Is gray market a bad thing?

I bought a new white boxed Canon 24-105L IS lens and went to go register it with Canon's website only to find out that there is no serial number on the lens where Canon marks them nor anywhere else that I can find. There is a 7 digit number located at the rear of the lens mount, but that number is not consistent with the amount of digits on a "true" boxed lens I have also purchased in the past. So what gives? Is it a fake or can I be assured it is a genuine lens? :(

I'm new to the photo editing world and I think I have nailed it down to what software I want to use. Which one is better the standard version or the Pro version and why? Is the Pro version needed or the standard version good enough to get by as I'm not doing this for professional reasons, just for myself?

As far as the Nikon's go I would not be of any help as I own a Canon T3I. I too am a beginner and I had wonderful time learning all the "basics" of photography which I think is important regardless of any choice of what camera to buy. Make sure you do all you're homework in any future lens purchases you make as if you want to upgrade later to a better camera. I have bought mostly EF lenses so when I make that leap to a full frame camera, by George I'll be ready. :-D
