I use a Canon 7D at the moment but would like to take more landscapes and low light shots (indoor and out). Lenses I have are 50mm 1.4 , 100mm2.8 , 16-35mmF4L , 24-105L , 70-200MMF2.8 L and 400mmF5.6L. Would like to upgrade to full frame , which would you choose 5D3 or 6D.

I don't have an opinion on the 5D3, I own the 6D and I think it's a great camera.

I love my 6D, but if money is not a big consideration I would go with the 5diii.

You have a boat load of quality lens' so unless money is an issue the 5dIII gives you many more AF points and will get the best out of your lens selection. I too went through this when the DIII came out with the caveat, I'm primarily a landscape geek. I sold my kids and wife and now I'm happy to take pictures when I want. :) :)

With the 5d line poised for new upgraded models in the near future (starting the end of this week actually) you will probably be well positioned to find really good pricing on the current 5diii.

Thanks for the reply. I had been thinking that myself , might be interesting to see pricing on the upgraded 5D3.

Hi boxer, I have the 6d, I think it is a great camera for what you are requiring low light and landscapes. The attached photo was handheld in very low light where they store the wine in large barrels. No flash or tripod.

Thanks for the reply. The AF system on the 5D3 is one of my main reasons for favouring it against the 6D.

Thanks for the reply. Thats the sort of photo I would like to take more often but with the 7D very hard to get results like that .

I have been shooting with the canon 5d Mark III since they went on sale 2 years ago and love it. I can tell you that I get great shots when others in my meetup group the Digital Divas cannot. On an outing to a local park with my group we ran across a wedding and the park asked if we could take a few photos for park advertisement. It was a cloudy rainy day and all I had with me was my 5D Mark III and the 24-105mm kit lens, my flash was at home. I was taken back with the quality of images that it produced in low light. The wedding party could not afford a photographer, so my Assistant Organizer and I did the whole wedding gratis for them. Sometimes it is not about the $$.

Thanks for the reply , thats exactly what I wanted to hear.I've been asked to do a few photos at a friends wedding reception in May (indoors) so would be struggling with the 7D without flash.

I just updated to the 5D3 and so far it seems to have been a good choice. I was using a 70D and the 5D3 is much better in lower light. Time will tell , I do know this will be last body for awhile.
