Google Ken Rockwell tests on this lens.

Thanks for the response. I did look at Ken Rockwell, but I'm looking for additional information. I've read as many reviews as I could find about the Tokina lens, but there isn't a lot out there. I was hoping someone here has used one.

I'm interested if anyone has used the Tokina 70-200 VC and what they think about it, and how does it stand up to the Tamron 70-200 VC G1. There isn't a lot of information out there yet about the Tokina, and I see the Tamron has some very good remarks about it. I am not interested in the Tamron 70-200 G2 nor the Nikon 70-200 VR, both a little more than I want to spend. Thank you in advanced for any insight you can share.

Thank you Morning Star. I was on that site but missed the contact info. I sent FIFA a email, hope they reply! I will also try your other suggestion. Thanks again

Many thanks again Morning Star. Just got a email from FIFA (less than 24 hr!) They said as long as the lens is less than 200mm Im good! I will bring a copy of the FIFA email just in case. Thanks all UHH for your help

I bought a Tokina 11-16 f/2.8 for my D7100 and love it. Your 18-300 is a good all-in-one lens, but for wider, the 11-16 is fairly compact, wider, better in low light and half the price of the Nikon 10-24.

I agree with Oddjobber. I use the Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 on a D3100 and really like the results. Its well built and sturdy, balances well and has smooth controls. I like this lens for what its made for.

I don't think you can get in touch with the stadium. If you look it up all you get is gobbelty gook about the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Thank you jethro779. Thats what I was finding also, but Morning Star gave me a link ( that I had looked at myself but didnt read the whole page!) that I should look at.

I know...last February at the opera house in Sydney, Australia I was taking a shot with my Canon and a 24-105 , of an opera singer in a special performance for our tour group. The guide told me no photos please! The lady sitting next to me recorded the entire show on her cell phone. What the?......

But item 5 seems to contradict that, for personal use you are allowed to take photos.
If possible, I would ask a clarification from either FIFA or the stadium in Winnipeg, in writing. Carry that with you, when you enter the stadium and possibly are challenged.

Thanks Morning Star thats the way I read it also. I need to figure out how to get in touch with Wennepeg Stadium.

Ebbie,

I think with Paragraph 5, you will be ok taking pictures for personal use. To me Para. 4 is to protect their commercial rights to the selling and/or "publishing" any pictures.

It might be worth while to get a confirmation in case some Rent-A-Cop doesn't know the limits of his authority & keep the ticket stub with you.

Thanks JCam, that is the way I read it also. I am still trying to figure out how best to get in touch with Wennipeg Stadium.

See item 4 on the Ticket terms and conditions.
I would take that as a no to any "recording" equipment.

Thanks Richard- but doesn't item #5 read that I can take pictures for my own personnel use? I will also try to get a reply from the stadium.

I have a Nikon D31000 with 18-55mm and a 55-300mm kit lenses. I'm going to USA games in Winnepeg in June. I want to bring this setup to the games but not having any luck determining if I can. Does anyone have any ideas where to find out. I have looked at FIFA websites and other websites but have found nothing. Don't want to bring camera to stadium and not be allowed to bring it in! As a side note, any recommendations what might be "must sees" in Winnepeg. Thank you.

No, I'm talking about the trip to the BadLands in SD. About 5 or 6 from this group went last spring. It was a great trip.

Ron - I'm from MN, not to far south of you, Cottage Grove area. I would like to hear more info on a trip to Badlands also. Thanks, Ebbie

Sorry I can't help with the lens question. However, I hike and backpack and I use a Cotton Carrier vest. It carries the camera and lens pointed down so it never gets in the way. It locks in securely and is easy to get the camera out and shooting quickly. I then use my main backpack for extra clothes, water, etc. I wrap extra lenses in bubble wrap and put in backpack. Works good for me!

Hi, I've seen reviews which suggest the Tamron 24 -70mm f2.8 Lens is a better lens. (What's your budget)?

I would like to stay under $350.00. I have heard good things about this lens also, maybe even the Sigma. I'm retired and don't want to spend alot on new lenses, I would like to buy a 35mm f/1.8 in the near future.
