I recently read an article about cutting canned dog food with pumpkin to help with an overweight dog's diet. Apparently, dogs like pumpkin and it will allow you to reduce the amount of dog food and calories the dog takes in, while maintaining the volume of food so the dog isn't hungry.

Yeah, don't use canned "pumpkin pie mix" which probably has sugar and other stuff, just pumpkin. Just a spoonful.

I go to our local supermarket, get can of pure pumpkin (store brand or Libby's), thaw frozen prepared pie crusts, and put a spoonful of pumpkin with our doggies' dry food. Can't stand pumpkin pie, but it is good for their digestion, and has lots of fiber. Then make an apple pie

That's one heck of a lot of manure to have to clean up everyday!

There is a whole barn load of it just waiting until January 20!

I grew up in the fifties and they were the best time to be a kid.

True, and like me you're about to turn 80.

42nd St (like a zillion others in NYC) are geared for the visitor/tourist trade. They give a lower price on "gray market" stuff shipped through Puerto Rico, etc. -without USA warranty, and you're stuck trying to get warranty work done.

Related to this phenomena is the fact that when staring at an object or shape of a particular color (e.g., red) the brain soon fatigues of that shape and color and begins to reject the image. Remove the image and look at a plain surface or wall and the brain will "see" that same shape but in the complementary or "opposite" color, in this case green!
In this case, the brain recreates the image of the girl against the window after tiring of the extreme contrast between the window and the dark image, almost black.

They also missed the one in Asheville across the street from the Biltmore Estate - it is all done in stone and marble and brass with a fireplace - it is awesome!

Florida east coast: You may be back in Asheville about now. Seem to be having a bit of weather down there. I'm just down the road. That McD just outside Biltmore grounds: I suspect they had to really jump through hoops to get it approved in Biltmore Village. Hardly tell it from Biltmore House (NOT!)
Same old McStuff, however, which is not my cup-o-tea.

We have our annual group of rose breasted grosbeaks passing through in migration. Don't know where they winter over and don't know where they call home. I guess I could look in our bird book.

I never met an "OUT" door at Walmart that I could not go "IN".

Never forget. This sick, barbaric ideology, hiding itself in the cloak of religion, will do it again and again.

Guess you never heard of this amazing discovery called metal. It comes in many forms, can be made into many things of just about any shape. I hope it reaches your obviously remote part of the world soon.

Friend, there ain't enough metal in the ground, or in stockpiles of aluminum cans, or ground-up tires (oops, petroleum again) to make everything now made from petroleum-derived plastics.

It's called listening to the people who know what it takes to make America secure. The current liar-in-chief, like Hitler before him, refuses to heed the advice of military professionals. It will be refreshing to have someone in the White House who puts America first.

And while you're deciding where to keep your ox to pull the cart, don't count on having plastic milk cartons, drink bottles or anything but a wooden bucket to carry water (since there is no PVC pipe plumbing to your house. Then you can use the wooden bucket to crap pee into because indoor plumbing is a thing of the past. Have a good life.

Capitalism's done a "crappy job"? Those opinions and the facts are worlds apart. Capitalism has lifted more people out of poverty than any system ever devised throughout history. Now that is a fact!

RE: "By 2020 there will be apps that can tell by our facial expressions if we are lying.

Imagine a political debate where it's being displayed, if they are telling the truth or not."

Oh, but it's here now! Just look at Obama and his designated successor the Hildebeast. If their lips are moving, they're lying.
