In Brazil a place called the Pantenal… the Hyacinth Macaws sit in trees 5 miles apart but they call for meetings to feed to get water or to fly around. It is one place where you can see a lot of wildlife, way more than the amazon jungle. Back to the macaws, my wife decided that she had to have one of these flying noise makers. I tried to talk her out of it but... Now once in a while he lets out a whoop As I am feeding or cleaning the cage that about clears my bowels. I have heard Bell birds but this macaw has it beat in sheer disturbing noise.
I live in the area, for wildlife Elkhorn Slough is great, the sea otters are usually there in force as well as sea lions, pelicans and other sea birds, renting a kayak will get you very close. Rent a kayak in Moss landing, on Highway one north of Castroville. The harbor there is home of Embari.
The research company of the Monterey bay Aquarium. In Castroville there is a small restaurant called the Trolley Diner, excellent food. All of Monterey has great places for pictures. South of Monterey past point Lobos is a park called Garrapata, a short hike down to the cliffs allows for some great wave shots and very beautiful shoreline exploration.
we need a flash, we tried an ipad but did not have good results. Maybe they are better than last year...
I am looking for a good point and shoot camera to take shop pictures with and send to my office computer without going to the "cloud" via wifi. Or a camera that can change picture title before downloading, this one could be without wifi. We take pictures of work projects and use them for documentation, it is a small shop and most jobs are "onesies". We used an ipod touch and it was just too grainy for details.
