Plenty of good ideas in this thread: http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-32754-1.html Got any specific questions let us know. Some excellent macro photographers regularly post to the forum.
Thank you very much! I'll be sure to utilize this site's resources.
Haha, this made me giggle. It's like how composers seem to all have slick-back grey hair, hipster glasses and a lanky figure, similar age bracket. Thank you for the laugh
Thank you Kaperture (clever handle). Welcome to the macro group. I look forward to your future participation in the group.
Thank you very much! I hope to gain a better understanding of macro and lens differences in general in my classes before really trying to undertake the subject. But I've always been attracted to it and I am insanely jealous of your rigs!
Welcome Katie to our group, I think you will enjoy it here, lots of fantastic information available ,though discussion and on the search link above. Looking at your creative photos so far you will be very successful.
Very nice Kaperture!!! What lens were you using. And were these all natural light? These are pretty good shots!!! You have the eye for this and the patience.:) Did you know we have a micro forum here? They can help you with your work in micro. They have some awesome folks there and can tell you ways to get your shots to be awesome. They make their own flashes with all kinds of defusers that are home made and makes it affordable to play. You should take a look!!! Erv
Oh wow, I had no idea about that resource! Thank you! And thank you so much for the feedback. These were all indeed in natural light. I have yet to own even a single external flash. Soon! Some of the photos were shot with my standard 18-55mm Sony lens, but most of them were with a Sigma 50mm f/2.8 Macro lens. It also came with a "Life Size Attachment" filter that I sometimes use.
Aloha Katie, Great first post. I believe you'll love it here for there are people who will be asking for help and you'll find there are many who are willing to provide help.
You are very artistic and we need that here. I learned by posting pictures and clicking on "store original". Then I ask for C & C. This allows a better download and the camera data is available for specific discussions for improvements. David
Ohh! Okay. At first I thought that was only a link to download the original file size. I didn't think about the information provided. Thank you!
Welcome to UHH Katie. You are lucky that stranger told you about the "Hog". Many knowledgeable and helpful members here. Most willing to assist you. Some great first posts. Enjoy the forum and good luck with your studies. Don
