On an impulse at the thrift store, for fun, I bought an older (non-digital) Vivitar 2x Macro Focusing Teleconverter with mounts for Minolta M/MC/MD. It doesn't fit my Sony Alpha camera/lenses. Can I get away with buying two identical mount adapters without glass (which are available for about $10 each) or would I need the ones with glass (which go for between $30 and $150+)? I was thinking that since it is a focusing teleconverter that just the non-glass ones might work. Or is the idea of even trying this just silly? Perhaps the adapters would throw the geometry all off. I have no great need for it, I just thought it would be fun to play around with. Thoughts?

This thread is very interesting to me ! I had the SX50 and it did just what i wanted ??lighten the load,but still get good pictures,,,worked good for 2-3 years,,but my 3 year old grandaughter decided it was "DIRTY"and needed a bath ??i caught her as she dipped it in her wadeing pool the 2nd time ?? i dryed it out but it never worked the same ? I been thinking about the SX60 she is now going to be 6,,and knows she did wrong !! Got to LOVE them !! So i will follow this thread close,, any one have SX60 pics to share ??
