The camera normally in my hands is a Nikon D750. It offers auto ISO, but I will never use it. I have to control that aspect, always. Do some testing, on your tripod, with manual ISO. Take shots of a subject at a distance, start at 100 ISO and gradually increase it with each shot. Then check out the images on your computer screen. You might stop using auto ISOšŸ˜

Would it change your level of effort? Your approach and / or level of consideration? Your purpose for raising the camera?

Iā€™ll stick with my D750 as well CPO! Grown accustomed to the size and weight of my SLRs and DSLRs over the decades, even with the old tank 80-200 2.8 D lens hanging off them. Seems like Iā€™ve lost something when trying out smaller and lighter gear, but, maybe if weight begins to bother me, I would appreciate the change. Iā€™m 69 now, so maybe when I get oldā€¦šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

Your first 10,000 images are your worst. Thank goodness they're now all digital.

Merry Christmas!

I'm done with buying new cameras. Gonna retire with my D750 and its backup, my never-say-die D200. Quite happy with the cameras I have and I'm (almost) cured of GAS syndrome. Photography is an EXPENSIVE, enjoyable hobby for me and I plan to concentrate on improving how I do it, rather than trying to keep up with the never ending improvements that come our way. Cheers!

Check out Steve Perry, back button focus. I have used it for years on many different cameras. It is fast and easy to use once you start working with it.

Nice contrasts. Did you take any shots of this scene, maybe placing the dandelion off to one side? Lower right or lower left?

FWIW: my routine.....

Insert card in reader slot, import raw images into Lightroom as DNG files, also copy original raw files to separate hard drive as backup, Both original and DNG files backed up by Time Machine and DNG files backed up to Amazon prime photo storage. Card returned to camera and formatted for use.

My little 14 year old buddy... had to put him down 2 years ago because of kidney failure. He had the most awesome eyes.

Totally agree that many comments regarding op's are snide, snarky and just downright rude.
No need for that kind of comment. Many newbies here and deserve polite help. If you can't be nice, just keep quiet!

Or go away!
