I use four interfit s1s and four pcb Einsteins for studio strobes and four sb910 speed lights. I use pocket wizards flex tt5 and mini with the ac3 controller. I normally only use the pocket wizards if using the Einsteins with the s1 because interfit has their own triggers

Most of the lighting will be from studio strobes, soft boxes umbrellas reflectors. I will use natural light in conjunction when the natural light is available and appropriate. My main concern was unwanted reflections
I will eliminate all ambient light so I have full control but Reflections can be a different story

Thank you all for the comments and recommendations. I will do some more research before hiring the architect to make sure he is experienced in design of photo studio architecture.

Perhaps you misunderstood my post I’m not a commercial photographer I’m a retired Electrical contractor that has been doing photography as a hobby for about 15 years. I’m not trying to support myself doing photography natural light or any thing else . I only shoot about 60 portraits a year for a fee . I can use the space other purposes but as long as I’m building it I want to make it photography friendly . I’m quite sure I can handle all electrical needs that would pass inspection any where in this country.

Sorry the room size will be half that size 692.37 sq feet 42wide 21 foot radius. I will be using that space for more than just photos. It will let me leave my cee stands and modifiers set up and store most of my photo equipment in the space . It will be attached to the east side of my house.it will be heated and cooled. I have four muslin back drops 12x24 ‘ to control the light and use for back drops.
Thanks for the input

Thank you for the tip ! It will be built on the back of the house that faces east. That is my only option. I will check for that spray. I plan on using white back drop cloth it’s 10 x 30 feet

No 42 feet wide with a 21 foot radius
A = pi x radius squared divided by two
Actually 692.37 sq. Feet I was in error with 1400 I forgot to divide by two. It will be half of the full circle . It will be all glass with 12 foot high walls and 22.5 feet to the peak . I am concerned with reflection during day time use .

I’m thinking of adding a 1400 sq.foot all glass 4 season room to my house with 12 foot walls and all glass ceiling to be used as a portrait studio . Can. Anyone advise me if this would be a problem , I’m concerned with reflection problems . I was thinking of using white cloth material to soften and control unwanted light . Any positive or negative feedback would be appreciated . Thank you for any suggestions.

Did you by any chance shoot in Raw too? If so, you could easily go into your editing tool and change the setting to auto, daylight, or whatever would work.

I did edit the kitty, but since I am not sure quite what the kitty's color is, it was just a guess.

Thanks Wendy ,I did shoot him in raw also.I loaded into view nx that came with the camera .I aslo have elements 12 but this is new to me so I'm not sure hot to edit raw photos yet .I will try changing the wb .Can I export the files from view nx to elements 12 ? to work on them .
I have several more photos I took of Somba ( the cat) but can't seem to get them to upload .Thanks for your input .Every tip I get is much appreciated thank you !

Cute photo- shame about the blue hue.
Did you perhaps have the light balance set incorrectly? Or was this on purpose to accentuate the blue hues? Your perspective is interesting, and the focus is good- on the eyes. I even like the composition. Fiddle with your light balance a bit and see which settings cast blue, yellow, etc. onto your photos.

Thank You ,I had wb on tungsten .The lighting was not good had to go to 1000 iso to get the ss faster. He is a mixed siamese and blue point himalayan but not as blue as the pic showed . His face does have more blue then the body.I'm a newbie so I have lots to learn .Thanks for looking and the info.

Might be a good idea to take something to protect your camera gear camera , lens .When I was there July 15 to July 30 in 2009 it rained at some point almost everyday.

Thanks Meives , I did use a tripod but I had the camera set to spot metering by mistake I thought it was on matrix .I was using hyperfocal distance of 5 feet.I thought everything from 3.9 feet to infinity should have been in focus.I was using a chart from my phone but that was for f 22 @ 28mm fl I must not have corrected that when I went to 55mm.So much to learn and a small brain to fit it all into but I have learned lots of things from people on here such as yourself .Thanks for everything .I'll keep trying .
