I have a nesting woodpecker in my front yard and wanted to set up a remote trigger on my D850 only I can't get Snapbridge to pair with my camera. Please excuse the poor quality webcam pictures of my step.
First I turned off Airplane mode
Then I turned on Bluetooth. The menu is not clear but it does say that Bluetooth is ON. First photo
The I start to pair from my Android phone. Photo 2
Under Connect to Smart Device menu I select START and the image in photo 4 pops up.
D850 shows as an available device and I select it. Photo 5
Then in photo 6 I select Pair.
The first couple of times I tried it it just didn't work and there was no error message then I started getting the one in Photo 7. I had password OFF but tried setting one and that didn't work and I don't know what pin they are talking about. Can anyone help me with this? I don't know what was wrong with a cable remote. That would be much simpler. Nikon need to work on making this quick and easy. Or maybe it's just me. Thanks

I just sent my 22 y/o granddaughter my Canon 7D MK ii and 100-400 is ii lens. She has only used a cell phone for photos before. I sent the camera set up for wildlife photography. I need recommendations for a good source of learning about DSLR camera basics. She is a smart gal (and like most young folks nowadays) has a great background in computer software. Thanks for sharing great resources. I have a Tamron APSC 11-16mm lens I will also send her as she is interested in night photography also.

Am considering buying a D500 body. I see lots on sale now from Japan and the USA.

Will Nikon USA still fix a D500? I don't think they will fix it at all IF it is not a USM - US MODEL...
so where can ONE get a D500 fixed? has anyone had experience with THIS MODEL D500?

I know IF it is a new Nikon, I know all is well in the USA if your model is USM. But after time, Nikon no longer services older cameras, so where can one get one serviced?

I also have a D800e, which is a USM model, but am not sure again IF it could get fixed IF it ever needs a repair...

If you have seen me before on here, you will know that I shoot aviation. I currently own my late grandfathers D5100 and I am currently saving up to upgrade to a full frame D780, however I just learned about how much detail you lose when cropping on a full frame vs a crop sensor. If anyone owns a D780 (or at least the D750 as the D780 only has like 0.3+ mp more than the D750) for airshows, what is the quality like when you crop in vs the D850.

My plan was to save up for the D780 with the kit lens but if it looks like the D850 is gonna be better, im just gonna get the body. I use a Sigma 150-600mm C for aviation and I have currently got 1 UHS-II card 128gb intended for the D780.

I was looking for a pocket travel camera for when I don’t want to travel with my DSLR. I spent some time looking and went to a camera store to look and feel. They seemed small in my hand. I couldn’t decide and realized the technology was in most cases 5 years old. Then I read a post on UHH about the snapgrip about the same time as the iPhone 15 came on the radar. As one prominent photographer said consider it a camera that also makes phone calls. I took it on a cruise with some port visits. I couldn’t be happier with the decision.
