Just for curiosity, I went over to"Nikon Cafe" and did not see any mention of a limiting of parts to specific repair facilities. I checked all posts in general discussion and not a thing.

Nice images, remind me of when we lived on the shore up in Sea Bright? Many early morning Sundays, I would watch the antics of the shore birds, then 8am came, and Donavan'sBeach Bar would open, and that finished my bird watching for the day.

All I know personally is that it has been around a very long time.

Aw, to hell with it. Tomfr, you decided way back up that this man was lying and decided to ride his ass out of town. You need to follow your own advice and get off his ass and do like your daddy said. Since this is something you can't fix, why don't you get on with your life. It's not the OP here - it's all the other posters who've perpetuated this thread. Frankly, I'd rather not watch you trying to push the OP around with regard to his honesty even if he's not being honest. Like Perry said, punch the ignore button and get on with your life.

I thought I was done with this crap, but I guess not. Please enlighten me, and point out one example I accused anyone of lying.

It seems my last reply to you was delayed, it is above your reply to me. You have a great weekend and try to get another linker like you have in your avatar.
This is it, see you Monday.

LOL, I like that... I call them "keyboard commandos", but knights of the keyboard has such a nice snobbish ring to it, and it accurately describes some of the trolls on the net...

I am also old school, I am 51 but I still don't back down to butt holes I meet in the street, and there are plenty of them here in the detroit area.

As for JWilliams, I would rather see him blow off some steam here, rather than to read about him in the news. It's too bad there isn't much more he can do about it other than to go to another event, which I think is his best option, and maybe if enough artists boycott the sham of a show, then maybe there will be meaningful reforms since it will hurt their pocketbook. My boss along with his friends within his car club has boycotted some shows like this, and some of them cleaned up their act, most didn't, but he's a tough old bird, he just goes elsewhere. The sham shows are the ones losing out because they aren't getting the business they would have because car clubs are wise to them, and this happened because they spread the word.

Have a good day.

You are right, I get way too POed people are treated unfairly. I would really like it if they would standup for themselves. I guess the next best thing is to find solace here. Now I am as guilty as beating a dead horse, as I mentioned befor. So on that note, it is good bye photo contests, hello a hardy single malt.
A pleasent weekend, and look forward to solving more crisis's with you.

Perry, I would whole hardedly agree, but, this is all after the fact. If the photographer felt so strongly, make a stink where it counts, not here with sympathetic audience. I guess, as a kid, if I felt wronged, my old man, would say, go out and fix it or shut up and get on with your life. I suppose it is not proper of me to compare myself to this photographer. the long and short of it, in my experience, make it right yourself, or forget about it. I still abide by my blue collar background in these matters, which, maybe have no place in the "artistic" world.
No disrespect is meant or intended, it is just there are is a good deal of unjustive in this world, that a photo competition pales by comparison.

Then don't enter the competition next year. Instead, you andvyourvfriends can picket, with signs proclaiming the contest is unfair to unpopular people!

Enough, it is over, quit beating a dead horse. Put the same amount of energy into improving your image making capabilities as you do bemoaning the fact that you were "cheated"

Like so many forums, including this one, on Nikonians, I was bombarded with ads that pertained to recent web sites I had been to.So far today on this site, I have had several advertisements for beach hotels in Viet Nam, and am exotic men's jewelry site.
Makes one wonder who is in charge.

Come on people, get over yourselves, it wasn't that great an image to begin with. I personally don't think it would have won anyway.
