It is a combination of things. First finding an interesting subject. Next finding or creating the best light for it. Then properly capturing the scene creatively. Finally processing the image to enhance it and make it fit his vision.

The better photographers are never satisfied with their last shots. Every time they take photos they are trying to do better than they did the last time. They are always learning, always trying new things.

So get out there and practice. Keep trying to get better shots than you did last time. Look for interesting subjects, look for interesting ways to shoot it, don't just shoot everything standing straight up with the camera at eye level. Look for different angles, different heights. Be creative. Properly expose your subject. Learn to process your images to enhance them, not to correct them.

Having good equipment makes some things easier, but it is the brain behind the camera that is the most important thing in creating "great" photos.

Above all have fun!

Religion belongs in the church or at home, a lot of people don't want to hear other people's fairy tales.

Yet everyday in schools across America, kids are forced to hear about a religion called evolution....speaking of fairy tales.

Would you please include the link where Nikon agrees to this on their web site?

[quote=Nikon_DonB]I just thought,.. Nikon gives you a shiny new D610 and a year later, you are out of warranty, and "out of their hair!" Think about it.
ON THE OTHE HAND!.. Should you keep your original D600, abiding with Nikon's numerous repair attempts(being a loyal Nikon Customer)you will practically have an unlimited warranty for a long time on a really nice camera.

That thought crossed my mind, but considering that my camera was gone for a month at a time for service and had been in 3 times since May, I figured that it being gone for 6 months of the year was unacceptable.

I got my D600 replaced last week, it took a call from the manager of Henry`s camera in Winnipeg. My D600 had been serviced twice since May and it was only home three weeks before the sensor was covered in spots again. I had talked to Nikon several times about a replacement, the answer was no, but they would service it for free as long as I owned it. The Manager of Henry`s phoned Nikon on my behalf when I tried to get the camera replaced under my extended Henry`s warranty. Henry`s said they would honour it but the problem was Nikons to fix, hence the phone call. Nikon e-mailed me an apology and stated they would replace the camera. It took a month but I now have a D610 with a two year warranty and my five year extended warranty with Henry`s is carried over to the D610. The only issue I had was Purolator lost my parcel for 3 days , as Nikon had put my Post Office Box number instead of my address. When Purolator found it I drove the hour to the depot instead of having them deliver it the next day !

The USA stance on Russia is weak but honestly other than Britain, Europe is the biggest joke of all. They didn`t exactly prove themselves in Afghanistan did they. I`m not a Obama fan, but Europe needs to get rid of the plank in their own eye before judging the speck in the USA`s eye.

I just want to know when hamas called for the world wide annihilation of jews???

Article 11 of Hamas’ Charter says: “The Islamic Resistance Movement believes that the land of Palestine has been an Islamic Waqf, an inalienable religious endowment, throughout the generations and until the Day of Resurrection, no one can renounce it or part of it, or abandon it or part of it.” Article 13 of Hamas‘ Charter states, “There is no solution to the Palestinian problem except by Jihad. The initiatives, proposals and International Conferences are but a waste of time, an exercise in futility.”

Here is article 13 in it`s full length

Article Thirteen: Peaceful Solutions, [Peace] Initiatives and International Conferences
[Peace] initiatives, the so-called peaceful solutions, and the international conferences to resolve the Palestinian problem, are all contrary to the beliefs of the Islamic Resistance Movement. For renouncing any part of Palestine means renouncing part of the religion; the nationalism of the Islamic Resistance Movement is part of its faith, the movement educates its members to adhere to its principles and to raise the banner of Allah over their homeland as they fight their Jihad: “Allah is the all-powerful, but most people are not aware.” From time to time a clamoring is voiced, to hold an International Conference in search for a solution to the problem. Some accept the idea, others reject it, for one reason or another, demanding the implementation of this or that condition, as a prerequisite for agreeing to convene the Conference or for participating in it. But the Islamic Resistance Movement, which is aware of the [prospective] parties to this conference, and of their past and present positions towards the problems of the Muslims, does not believe that those conferences are capable of responding to demands, or of restoring rights or doing justice to the oppressed. Those conferences are no more than a means to appoint the nonbelievers as arbitrators in the lands of Islam. Since when did the Unbelievers do justice to the Believers? “And the Jews will not be pleased with thee, nor will the Christians, till thou follow their creed. Say: Lo! the guidance of Allah [himself] is the Guidance. And if you should follow their desires after the knowledge which has come unto thee, then you would have from Allah no protecting friend nor helper.” Sura 2 (the Cow), verse 120 There is no solution to the Palestinian problem except by Jihad. The initiatives, proposals and International Conferences are but a waste of time, an exercise in futility. The Palestinian people are too noble to have their future, their right and their destiny submitted to a vain game. As the hadith has it: “The people of Syria are Allah’s whip on this land; He takes revenge by their intermediary from whoever he wished among his worshipers. The Hypocrites among them are forbidden from vanquishing the true believers, and they will die in anxiety and sorrow.” (Told by Tabarani, who is traceable in ascending order of traditionaries to Muhammad, and by Ahmed whose chain of transmission is incomplete. But it is bound to be a true hadith, for both story tellers are reliable. Allah knows best.)

What is wrong with our government and why do they cater to the enemy? 10's of thousands of Christians are being murdered, yet our government is constantly making concessions to a certifiably insane group of murderous cave dwellers. Liberalism is just nuts, and you can't tell me that it is not liberalism that is driving this horseshit, win them over by showing respect and compassion while they defile and slit the throats of innocents.

Last Sunday at 2pm Israel and Hamas brokered a ceasefire. At 2:06 pm Hamas fired a rocket into Israel At 2:55 pm, Hamas Claims responsibility. Monday 4 Israelis were killed and 10 injured. How the heck does anybody expect Israel to make peace with a organization whose sole purpose is the total annihilation of it`s people and then move on to Jews living in Europe and America. I`d be telling Obama to shut up to, he`s about as helpful as the totally useless United Nations.

How, does the size of Gaza possibly excuse Hamas from using houses, hospitals and schools as areas for their weapons ? . This is the same group that uses human shields, mentally handicapped children as suicide bombers and repeated rape as a means to get women to strap bombs on them selves for allah . Simply incredible how some people will go to great lengths to excuse terrorism! I continue to applaud Israel for it`s restraint.

I am going to try again yet The Nikon Mississauga Service Centre in Toronto has stated that it is not the policy of Nikon Canada to replace the D600 with the D610. There is no Nikon Service Centre in Manitoba it has to go to Nikon Mississauga Service Centre in Ontario. I have tried twice and got told no, they will continue to clean the sensor but I can`t have my camera gone for a month or more every few weeks to get serviced. I have done it myself but it shouldn`t have to be something you do after every 100 shots .

I have sent mine in twice. The first time It had the shutter replaced, 2nd time they just cleaned the sensor. I`ve had it back less than 4 weeks and it`s once again littered with spots. Nikon Canada has stated that they will not replace with the D610 it`s not their policy. Fortunately I have a extended warranty on the camera and hoping Henry`s Camera will replace it on Tuesday when I make the trip into Winnipeg. According to the warranty it`s 3 strikes and a replacement...fingers crossed.
