Skylum does a good job on Mac programming, but falls a like short on Windows. Check their community comments and you will see some of the issues.

Lightroom Shuts down my computer
It could a bad memory stick. You may be using more memory with Lightroom and write into a bad area of memory. Check the internet for memory testing software, when it hits the bad area it may shutdown.

I would also send my money on a good ISP monitor, that will display as much of Adobe RGB as possible. This is important when it comes to editing photos.
