Hi All,

Hoping someone out ther in UHH land can help me with a problem I'm having.

I recently purchased a Nikon D500 and I'm having problems Importing Camera Raw Images into Lighroom CC on my Apple iMac.

When I insert my SD card into the iMac card slot, each of the raw images on the card shows up in the Import Window with the message "No Preview Available for This File."

When I attempt to Import the images, the bar top left in Lightroom goes across from left to right and I get a small window listing the images and saying "The files are not recognized by the raw format support in Lightroom."

I've downloaded Camera Raw 9.6 to my iMac, but it's still happening.

When I switch to Jpeg images and attempt to upload those, there's no problem; these ones are recognized.

Very frustrating, and I've no idea what to try next. Has anyone else experienced this problem. Any ideas or solutions? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Regards to all,

Terry

This is indicative of ACR not being updated, but I would have thought they'd have the D500 included by now. Have you checked the CC app to see if you have a LR update waiting?

Sounds like you have to download the latest MacOS update from Apple.

Are the files on your card .NEF files?

Can you plug in your card, start LR, click the Import button then capture a screen of LR at that point and post it up here (be sure to click 'store original')?

What version is your OS and your copy of Lightroom?

Also, Terry, it helps if you use Quote Reply, so that we know who you are replying to.

Your operating system is fine. It's LR that isn't up to date. Open up Adobe Creative Cloud. That's where you log into your account. Click on Apps and you'll see down below that you will have an update waiting for Lightroom CC 2015.

There is no doubt in my mind that Adobe has updated it's products for the Nikon D500.

Hi Bruce,

Yes, they're NEF files.

Now let's see if I can post a screenshot:

Hi Gene,

Hope I'm getting it right now. OSX Yosemite 10.10.5. I updated it this morning.

Lightroom is Lightroom CC 2015. I only downloaded it a few days ago (I wonder if something went wrong there?...)

Hi JD,

Gotcha. The frustrating thing is that when I do that it says it's up to date. Here's a screenshot (now that I've figured out how to do that):

I thought ACR was for importing RAW files into Photoshop, not Lightroom?
