If they are tearing up your garden, you may have a grub problem. Have you ever tried using Milky spore to get rid of the grubs? It will also keep moles, voles and Japanese Beetles away.

Beautiful shot. I especially like the water droplets. They give an extra dimension to the rose.

Patience is the hardest part! Where and when were these photos taken?

The Great Horned Owl has finally hatched her eggs and is bringing two owlets into the world. I have been fortunitate to be able to go by and check on them and get a few photos. The Owlets are moving around and looking for food. I shot all the photos with a 7D MKII and a Tamron 150-600 lens.
Wow! The composition and clarity on your photos are phenomenal. Thank you for posting them here.
Singing Swan,
Very well said. I never have understood why people imply a negative form to the saying "He was treated like a dog." We lovers of animals should all be so lucky.

Good news today(in my books) from the Supreme Court of Canada, they threw out the law banning assisted suicide. So now terminally ill patients can choose when to end their life.
I wonder what the religious people out there think of this. And Im sure I will find out. Personally Im all for it.
And this will stir the pot up- again- now for the sad part, it will take the government (CANADIAN) over a year to pass it, and that will go up as we have a Federal election coming up in the fall, and I think there will be a change of power.

I applaud this action. Every compassionate culture should offer this humane and dignified option. As you say, the delay in enacting this is a bit disappointing.

http://www.decodedscience.com/fire-ant-allergy-red-ant-bite/21606Agree with all the suggestions. The legs and antenna are vibrating at high-speed so sacrifice ISO (increase) and kick the speed high and tight f for DOF. Careful f-16-22, too much and diffraction is a problem. Test settings by photographing a textured surface perhaps course-sand to get the settings down. Noise from hi ISO can be corrected afterwards and if not ... so what... call it film-grain-effect and brag about it.
I note that the surface is hard and black mirrored, perhaps a CPF would help.
With post processing you can see that parts of your photo are great. Note that some of the black is blown because it is mirrored and highly reflective of the light.. hence my CPF suggestion.
This little section was post processed using ... Topaz: DeNoise, Detail, Clarity, Focus the following very cropped cluster resulted.
