Yes vonzip, it had just caught and ate a Dragonfly which they sometimes eat on the wing. They also feed on swallows and swifts they are that fast.
Went to my local reserve and came across this beauty. It is a juvenile, if it was an adult it would have red feathers around its thighs, suitably called (red trousers) then it would be a stunner.

Great shot Ian, brings back many memories. I was Quality Manager that oversaw the build of that pier. It was one of the most satisfying contracts that I worked on as it was the first pier refurbishment in the UK for many years. Company was Mandall Engineering in Sheffield. btw I also live in Donny.
Nice find David. The bird is a male, you can tell by the reddish marks on the breast and the slate coloured back. On download you can see the seeds in the pigeons crop.
Nice shot Gary, not too sure about waders on your side of the pond but I would have said it was a Wood Sandpiper.
Great shot Geoff, now get it on your wall.
Great shots John. As soon as I saw the title with birds and Iceland in it I hoped for a shot of one of my favorite birds, the Red Necked Phalarope. You didn't disappoint.
Vicky, your second succulent is Echeveria Imbricata, used to grow them years ago, beautiful plants and nice shots.
Went on the moors today and saw these beauties.
Great shot, really love it. Living on the edge in more ways than one.
Nice shot. Not sure about willing tho', I don't think it's got much option.
Take a bow, just about the best wildlife action shot I have seen. Well done.
Nice shot Regis, the Starling must be one of the most photogenic birds when the sun is shining.
Nice shots esp. the flight shot. But get your bird books out Safecracker as these are Black Headed Gulls in winter plumage. Common Gulls have a yellow bill.
Saw this beauty waiting in the bushes and waited more than half an hour for him to emerge. Luckily he did , but didn't catch anything.
