I will try our sob story. My dad died of dementia last year. We found TONS of photos he ripped up -no reason why. Anyway there was a picture I found of dad with my brother which is wonderful. I would like to get it fixed and give to my brother as a gift. I have NO photoshop/lightroom skills. It is in 4 pieces pretty cleanly tore. Can someone stitch it for me? I can only afford a small amount to pay someone. Can someone help? Thanks. Brenda

If the image is out of focus, no amount of post is going to save it.

"Plain to amazing" is probably an individual assessment that will differ by each individual. To achieve these results, a file with the maximum available data is needed as input to the processing along with computer / software power, and the vision of the potential, and the knowledge / skills to harvest an amazing result from the input file.

And still, all that processing starts with the best input. The subject needs to be interesting / potentially interesting. The image needs to maximize the possibilities for editing, typically RAW. These are skills of the photographer using the camera equipment.

Amen. Even that word “cropped” wouldn’t be nearly as troublesome if it weren’t for its evil fraternal twin “crop factor”.

In third grade students are forced to do more than add and subtract and develop phobia of numbers. A few years later the word “factor” is foisted upon them leading to toadall mental lockup. So we now have quite normal adults asking getting rather dumbassed ideas about how the numbers in the crop factor apply to various other imaging parameters. It’s a lot like the “super moon” or “1:1 macro” nonsense.

“ The only dumb question is the one you refrain from asking “ ?!?!?!?!?!?
That is sooooo clearly not true :-(

Was it actually necessary to use the language? The only reason people resort to foul language is because the weren't smart enough to pay attention to vocabulary lessons in elementary school.

I am recovering /forever unfortunately/ from multiple neck surgeries..mirrorless is the only way I can go now because of weight consideration only. Mirrorless is ergonomically sound for many many of people with disabilities

If he had lenses he should know what uses he bought them for.

The desire to take photos and 6 lenses to cover me in any situation I shoot in..however...I know I am grateful for the savings account which funds my lens obsession.

Consider donating items to a local high school that offers photography classes.

If the money isn't a mitigating factor..I recommend the local community College too. I was required to take a film photography class and the school had 3 loaners for 90 students /we had to take it for our AA in digital photo of all things/
