The Rebel T3 has a special function available for DOF preview. Lets you use the "SET" button for the preview.
I have a shortcut on my desk top that points to the .exe file for the application.
The HDR Pro 2 directory looks like this:

Uninstall HDR Efex Pro 2 application file.
There is a similar directory for the 64 bit version . This was a standard download from their site, nothing special.
Had the same problem after buying for use with PE10. Called to cancel order and found that it can be used just fine stand-alone. Not as handy as a plug-in, but works great.
