I have just downloaded a 30 day trial of CC. I currently have Lightroom 5 running on an iMac (OSX Yosemite). The download was confirmed and the CC icon is sitting in the tray at the bottom of the Mac screen. However, when I click on it nothing happens. Any ideas please?

I'm running Lightroom CC on a PC but......I had the same problem when I first installed LR CC. Even though Lightroom was not open on my desktop, if I looked in the Windows "task manager" I could see that Lightroom.exe was running. Once I closed it through task manager I was able to start and use LR CC. I've opened and closed it a number is times now with no issues.

I's been a while since I used a MAC but.....I'd bet that there is something similar to windows task manager. Take a look.

deleted - misread question - close Lightroom 5 - run one or the other.

I don't know if this will help with you current problem, but Adobe has released 60 LR CC tutorials.

Chris,

I would suggest manually removing it from your dock. Then, I would go into your applications folder and then manually move (drag) the LR CC down to your doc as a replacement which will be a new linked icon. Then, try starting LR CC by clicking on the icon in your Dock and see if that works.

Thanks all.

TRC: That seems to have worked. I've just tried the HDR feature and have to say I'm a bit disappointed. Maybe I need to learn moreabout it but the effect compared with Photomatix is poor.

Chris,

I am glad that was an easy fix. I don't have LR 6 or LR CC and still using LR 5.7.1, so I am unfamiliar first hand with the new features and how well they work. That has to be disappointing for sure. I hope maybe through time Adobe will enhance it some more and therefore improve upon their new release.

I guess I'm not quite sold on this new version, as of yet, but am honestly curious to see if it is much better? Perhaps I may download a trial version in the future. Good luck, Chris, and enjoy.

Best Regards,
Tom

The upgrade price is only $80, so it's reasonable.

Log out of Adobe CC, all the way out, so that you have to provide a login name and password to open it again. LR 6 should start normally after that.
