Very cool! Can we take this to mean you're breaking up with yourself? Looks like a really bad break up by your expression. :€

I wasn't going to reply or post because I was just getting a chuckle about you thinking it grew back together  It does look quite choppy and give that illusion, therefore I doubt you have a rodent problem because this poor fellow looks as if he is in need of a good meal. But as I read all the responses I feel I wanted to throw in my 2 cents...

Ph0t0bug... I admire your bravery, I don't have a fear of snakes but I do have a fear of wasps and bees. I know how hard it is to push that aside to get that perfect photo. I can relate to you being ready to jump in a seconds notice if it moved. I understand the removal of the snake in your garage.

Once there was a big hornet's nest in our shed and my husband kept telling me how beneficial they were, so I let them stay. Well as it continued to grow, they got more aggressive, and one buzzed my head when I went in to get something. That's all it took...and it was on!!! So, I Armed myself with a brand new can of wasp spray and went to town... Guess who won!

It's hard to do... but try to ignore those who stand in judgement about a personal decision. You will find just as many or more who will come to aide when being attacked.
I wasn't going to reply or post because I was just... (show quote)

I really appreciate your story and understanding. Sounds like you had much more to fear than I did! Glad they didn't get to you!

I do love taking photos of bugs-have thousands-hence the name. But I don't want them crawling on me or in my kitchen cabinets, or in my bed:) I have my limits!

I'm with you, Sarge69. They make great photos but I personally don't need them for anything else! But that's just me....

Many, many thanks to all you kind and caring people. Your encouragement means so much to me!
I did not post my comments to have people "beg" me to stay. I posted them so that those who can't seem to be considerate of the rest of us would know that it's not appreciated and they are degrading the forum.
Also I DID NOT KILL A SNAKE, my husband did and I'm glad he did, not only for me, but AS I STATED he didn't want them hanging from the rafters in the garage. I don't think I need to defend myself or him for that. Also I stated that I KNOW THEY ARE BENIFICIAL. OK?
It doesn't make a bit of difference to me if other people are insanely wild about dirt or anything else. I have never put down a soul for what their interests are.
It was totally the rudeness that upset me, as well as a few other people's that upset me and made me want to find a new home for my interest. What I am seeing now is that the nice folks her vastly outweigh the rude ones. I think you can see that by the posts here.
As for JR1, he realized long ago that his words were not coming across well, and I believe he has made every effort to let us all see his softer side. I applaud him for that.

Thank you all for the kind comments. I do believe there are more folks here with a good heart than not. I think we should form a blog of "People who don't like snakes"! Looks like we could get a pretty big group. Not sure I could stand on going conversations about them, though. :)
Must sign off for an appointment. If Admin has not removed me by the time I get back I will continue to look in until they get it straightened out.

Dooragdragon, thank you so much for the words of encouragement. It's folks like you who have made me grow to love this site and feel like I had friends here. I am one to back away from a fight at any price. Perhaps that sounds like a weakling, and perhaps I am, but it's how I've lived my life. I certainly don't want to get everybody up in arms, choosing sides or anything like that, but I did want to make it clear to those who are being rude that it's unacceptable. They won't miss me and I won't miss them. I know that I am not the only one to leave because of these types of people. I just hate to see a good thing messed up.

Not at all JR1. Just tired of having to weed through such nonsense to get to badly needed helpful information. BTW, you have provided a great deal of help for me and I'm sure everyone else.

GrandmaJoy, I would love to continue here, but have seen others berated as well, and it bothers me more to see someone else put down than myself. Mostly I don't like to see this photography forum turned into a soapbox that has nothing to do with photography. I'm sure that's not why it was created. I've seen many photos and read many comments about things I strongly disliked but simply moved on to another page and let others deal with it. I'm tired of doing that, and I think it's getting worse. I'd like to find a helpful forum with good photography information where I can learn and grow without such nonsense.

I have already posted this with my post from yesterday, "Bad photo, good story", but have decided to post in this section so that all can read it. If you are wondering what brought it on, look at my previous post.
Thanks Guys, for all your positive remarks and helpful info. As for the others, they have been rather ugly about expressing their opinions, which I found to be rude and insensitive. I explained I have a phobia about snakes (don't even like the word) and took the pics in spite of that in order to share with the group. That's how much I have loved this forum. Unfortunately, they have ruined it for me and I have asked to be removed from the membership, but they are having difficulty doing that, so it gives me the oportunity to thank all those who have been so helpful to me in finding my way through DSLR photography thus far.As for those who are so strongly opinionated that they can't see past their own noses, and feel they must berate others to let it be known-I won't miss you and hopefully will be able to grow into a decent photogropher without ever having to encounter your ilk again. Good bye!
