Too confusing!

I'm with you, Jerry. Not clear how you would use it in composing a shot, rather than analyzing it after the fact.

Very well done! Well-deserved recognition.

Adding an extension tube or tubes to your macro lens would increase your magnification and reduce your DOF as well as your shooting distance. For specific applications they come in very handy. A good set is the Kenko set a lot less expensive than Canon, as shown here:

I have the Kenko set and have been very happy with them. A "poor man's macro".

Very nice composition. I'm impressed at the clarity of the foreground grasses with an f-stop of 11! Well done!

I've been very happy with my D5100, having graduated from a D40 and D60. When I first got it, I didn't appreciate the value of the flip screen feature, but now I do. When used in conjunction with the preview, it enables very high and low shots that would otherwise be difficult or uncomfortable (kneeling down) to get.

Hey!

I think I can help. I got these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00TRDVGUO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. So far, I have used three of them. No problems as far as I can see. I'll order them again, no problem.

Also, just to let you know, the 13x19 paper is not on sale after June 30th so grab it while you can.

Thanks for your input. Although the price is very attractive, I'm planning on sticking with Canon.

Yes. Third party ink from a highly reputable seller ruined a perfectly good Canon all-in-one printer.

That would be my concern. Thanks for the feedback.

I have used my pro 100 for two years. Over a year ago I started using YoYo ink from Amazon. Lower price and great results.

Thanks Philo

Jeff,

If you have a Fry's Electronics store nearby give them a try. They will refill your Canon cartridges with industry standard inks.
The major problem with third party replacement ink cartridges is not the ink, it is the replacement cartridge. Fry's take your empty cartridge, pretests the cartridge, cleans them if necessary, fills the cartridge with fresh ink, and returns your old cartridge with fresh ink.

If the cartridges you purchased from Canon worked well then the refilled one should as well. As time will pass your original cartridges may become defective from use, Fry's will have Canon cartridges you can us until refill is needed and start the process over again.

I have a Fry's about 10 miles from home and they have refilled my Canon ink cartridges.
You simply drop off your empty cartridges in the morning and later in the afternoon pick up the refills.

That would work, if I had a Fry's, but not much luck with that in the Pocono Mountains. Thanks anyway.

It looks good, but I have to be a bit sceptical based on others' comments.

I prefer to make prints, not play with ink. It would cost me a small fortune to replace the carpeting after a spill.

That said, I might get 10 prints a month worth hanging. Using Canon cartridges it will cost me around $30 for the ink and a little more for the paper. If I mess with the ink bottles, I might save as much as I spend taking my wife to lunch.

If I was printing a 100 or more a month, I would not be using a Pro-100. There are high volume printers for that!

Good point
