I use the steel tubes that the old pre-satellite TV aerials were mounted on.. They were a bit short.. so I just inserted a wooden dowel of suitable diameter to join two together.. It has the benefit that they come apart easily so storage is more convenient...

Open an image and move the crop box to the dimensions you require... Then go to the Crop Tool Drop Box. Click on Use Last Applied... Then click the Save icon and a box will appear... Type in the dimensions an save....Your dimensions will be listed as a default setting... Hope that makes sense...

Hi guys... Sorry ..I thought I'd replied but obviously I hadn't...but thanks to everyone who responded.... Second mistake is that having read the replies and my original post I fear that I have not been clear enough to convey what the problem actually was...So I think it best to forget it and I'll try and repost one that makes sense along with some images later... Thanks again..

As a result of getting underexposed images when shooting yesterday I did some checking today and found the following.... Taking both incident and reflected light readings using my Variosix F meter and the camera meter in viewfinder mode, the result for all three was at ISO100 f8 @ 1/15... The resulting image was again grossly under exposed. Switching to Live View, the camera meter reading was ISO100 f8 @ 2.5 secs.. which gave a correctly exposed image. Can anyone please explain this as I am completely baffled.

I agree.. but it seems to be par for the course these days... Just like Microsoft who keep invading my pc with exhortations to upload W10...If they have the abilty to remotely do this sort of thing.. what else is going on undetected...

The simple answer to your question is "No" simply because there is no physical connexion of the flash to the camera.

I've used PSP since I got an early issue (PSP3 if I remember correctly) several years ago on a free CD with a photo magazine... Have used it and it's various versions ever since. If I'm honest, whenever PSP has not been able to produce what I wanted.. it's always been because I didn't provide a sufficiently decent enough image to start with. And as they say.. a bad workman should never blame his tools...

I've been a Pentaxian since my first SLR (an ME Super) way back in the early 80's.. No intention of changing now. It's just a great pity that many of the Asian third party add-ons don't seem to recognize that there are DSLR's on the market other than Nikon and Canon...

dpackard67,
You can make selected corrections is PSP X-7, you would select the specific element in the image, add 3 – 6 pixel feathering to the edges, and apply the correction.

The other option is to use the Brushes like Dodge – mid-tone to lighten softly shadowed elements.

If you had a person’s face in light shadow, you could select the face, apply 3-pixel feathering, and then use the “Fill Flash” tool to lighten the face.

I've had a Gossen Variosix F for goodness knows how long...but certainly over twenty years years... It's been used and abused and never let me down... Uses a standard or rechargeable battery and takes refelected and incident light readings.

Just because someone has an in-depth knowledge of a subject doesn't necessarily mean that they are proficient in the execution of it. There's an old saying along the lines of... Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach.
