As someone who spends a lot of time in Istanbul, I want to correct some of the comments posted based on very old experiences. Today Istanbul is a sophisticated city, so ignore the nonsense about bic razors and note that the smoking regime today is similar to the US - illegal to smoke on buses, in restaurants, etc. As you have three weeks, suggest you go beyond Istanbul: Ephesus (Efes in Turkish) and Aphrodisias are awesome experiences.

The length of a posting doesn't discourage me - unless of course it's from F16 Club.......

They're both great stores, but much more extensive showroom to browse over at B&H. Plus, as another poster said, B&H very convenient for Penn Stn. Enjoy!

If you're interested to buy a D7000, Adorama are currently advertising manufacturer refurbished ones for $729; on eBay the same item is $599 - also from Adorama!! Seems like a great price (well I don't think I can resist it!)

In addition to my dslr equipment, I have Nikon v1 (mirrorless) and a Nikon p510 super zoom: the mirrorless seldom gets used because the 510 is more convenient has much greater range and picture quality similar. Hope this helps

Been there several times. You have little or no chance of photographing tigers: the few there are are in reserves and they are shy, particularly with the ill-organised crowds making lots of noise!
The area offers wonderful scenic/ historic architecture opportunities and the people are fascinating and usually quite willing to be photographed.
I doubt you'll find decent equipment at prices below the US or even Europe.

I had the Nikon 18-200: gave it to a relative after getting tired of lens creep! My Tamron 18-270 II doesn't suffer the same problem and the results are as good as the Nikon - very happy with it and good value

Surprised how popular bicycling is - me too. Also after my recent retirement, started learning to play guitar.

I got the Nikon P510 a month ago. Haven't used the Canon so can't offer you a comparison, but am very happy with the results of the 510. Extremely versatile for the times you don't want the weight and bulk of a SLR.

Yes we all have the legal freedom to minimise our tax payments, but in a society don't we have a moral obligation to contribute fairly? In Romney's case he is a man of clear religious conviction and so we might expect that he has a clear moral code. The reason that it's important to know what he has chosen to pay is that he wants to occupy the highest public office in the land and make decisions that will affect us all - so we're entitled to know whether he's public minded or not.

I sold a Nikon lens to Adorama last month. Took it to their New York store; they gave me a very fair price (about 70-75% of used retail) and gave me a check immediately.
