Any Hobbies Beside Photography?

I had to retire 2 years ago due to health problems but the doctors said that one of the best things I could do for myself was to have a hobby. I hadn't been planning to retire this early (I'm 64 now) and I really hadn't given it much thought and it was my doctor who suggested photography.

I was just wondering if anyone else has (besides photography) any interesting or unusual hobbies?

Bicycling. It's not necessarily interesting or unusual, but I like it.

I usually carry a bridge camera with me when biking - with a modified carrying case that goes over my shoulder and around my waist like a belt.

I haven't found any carrying device, strap or case that I would use with a DSLR while biking.

My wife was just suggesting we try that. Living in Florida there are no intimidating hills to climb like we sometimes had back in Iowa. Also, bicycling is something I can still do if I keep it casual.
Interesting comment about not taking the DSLR ... that's a mistake I might have made. I have a relatively decent point and shoot. The battery case is held together by rubber bands but it works really well and would be ideal for biking.

I retired about 7 months ago, took up photograpgy (again) to help keep me busy. Not unusual but I golf and exercise as well. My wife likes birding so the phoography is compatible.

I looked up SASS to see what it was all about and I suddenly remembered back when I was about 10 years old (late 50's), going to the movie theater in the the small little midwest town where I was born. It was a big deal because they were showing a popular new western film and they had a guy named Joe Bodrie who was supposed to be the world's fastest draw. After the matinee he let all the kids line up and we got a try at seeing if we could beat him (sort of). He would have us spread our hands apart about 18" and whenever we felt like it we would clap them together as fast as we could. Noone even came close to beating him, he could draw the (unloaded) pistol from his holster and it would be between our hands before we could get them together. He was faster than anything I'd ever seen on TV even with their special effects.

I enjoy going to Casey Key and watching the tide move in and out. You can get great sunset photos there too.
