While testing out my new telephoto lens I got lucky and at the Huntington Beach Pier they were having a USA Surfing contest going on. The waves were less than perfect but the surfers are all very talented and made up for the poor conditions.

Brent, if you're not shooting for sports/surfing magazines, you should be!

If you don't want to run two screen lower spec on the video card higher spec on the CPU
Windows 10 pro
Please check out windows 10 home may have issues over 16 gig ram. There is something else you should check out as you know when the Ram on a computer is running low it uses hard disk memory. So if there's plenty of space on your ssd drive which is running Windows the drop in performance should be nothing too worry about. If any! Also there is a 3 year warranty on i7 cpu

Marty
Thank you so much for this information. I will definitely check into your suggestions

Nice machine - I have nothing to add unless you want to add some memory or larger SATA drive.

Im trying to keep the price as low as I can. I figure I can always add more memory if I need it and I have several 2 gig externals
A couple people recommended a larger card so I could run two monitors. I tried that a time or two and didn't like working with two. I had rather have the room on my desk:) Thank you for the reply. I really appreciate it.

I am attaching specs for a new computer that I am purchasing but wanted to run it by my fellow hoggers for approval. I use my computer primarily for my photography business so naturally I am a heavy user of Photoshop, Lightroom, and several other editing programs. I would really appreciate you guys looking over the specs and letting me know if you think they are sufficient for my purpose or if there is anything I need to add or increase. Thank you so much for your input.

Could this be a good alternative as an extra slave flash to the Canon or Yongnuo versions?

I had never heard of the Shanny Speedlite but ran across it while looking searching for info on the Yongnuo speedlite. I found an interesting review: http://www.lightingrumours.com/shanny-sn600c-rt-review-6822

Seems this flash can only be used as a slave, but it sounds like it might be built a bit sturdier than the Yongnuo. Of course if you already have a Canon or Yongnuo or an RT trigger, then it seems this might be worth considering as an extra slave flash. I don't see any reviews yet on Amazon for this flash and it's about $20 more than the Yongnuo. As mentioned in the review, the recycle time with the same type of fully-charged batteries is noticeably faster than the Canon 600EX-RT. The Shanny also has a mico-USB port for firmware updates!

Other than this and a couple other mostly positive reviews, I have heard nothing about this Shanny flash. Amazon has no reviews yet and I asked earlier in a different thread if anyone here had any experience with the Shanny but got no replies, so thought I'd post in a new thread.

Has anyone else heard anything (good or bad) about this flash?
Could this be a good alternative as an extra slave... (show quote)

I don't know anything about this particular flash but I have the Shanny SN600SC flash. I have used it on my Canon 5D MK lll for over a year now and have had good service. No problems at all

15 year old deaf border collie being held by a devoted owner, The owner has had this border collie since he was a puppy. Time is running out for this beautiful relationship and you can see the emotions in both the handler and his 15 year old partner.

This picture really struck a nerve with me. I trained and exhibited Bulldogs for 27 years and have felt the emotion I see in your picture many times. I keep going back over and over to take a look at it. It is a keeper for sure and I bet it might earn you a ribbon or two in a contests......good job!

My guess is that you used flash but didn't allow enough time for it to recycle when you took the second shot.

If you are considering upgrading in the future you may want to look at the 5DIV which is said to be coming out next year. It will almost certainly have the function.

That sounds like a plan..........

You are likely using spot metering and changed the metering spot to something brighter in the darker image. Use area metering and this won't happen.

I was using evaluative metering...

Yes it is. I've tried it on my 7D II and its very effective. The camera even warns you when its needed as its not a feature that should be left on all the time.

I have a 7D and I'm thinking of upgrading to a 7D II How are the low light capabilities on the 7D MKII as compared to the 5D MKIII ?
