Very nice. A great job of getting rid of converging lines.

Why worry? You are going to make a few prints for your family.....right?
When was the last time a photographer or a photographer's lawyer knocked on your door and demanded to see all photos in your possession?

Once again, don't confuse the top end Bessler with the cheap knock off Beseler.

I am possibly wrong but I don't believe that the 23C will do 4x5.
Google it.

Don't make the mistake of painting your "darkroom" walls black even if you are loading film into holders. The room should be light tight and the walls white or light grey/beige.
Why white? Your eyes will become very strained after a brief time in your processing room with black walls. When you turn on the overheads the effect will be like spotlights instead of even lighting. The same goes for your safelights.

Be aware that there is a big difference between the Bessler enlarger and the Beseler which was a cheaper KNOCK OFF.
What model is the Beseler ? They also made a 2x3 (or so). Model 23.
Can you still buy 4x5 Polaroid. Before computers I used a ton of 4x5 and 8x10 Polaroid.

I absolutely loved making 20x24 b/w prints from my 8x10 negs and that huge 8x10 enlarger. Some mighty nice prints. No grain and creamy smooth tones.
We had 7 8x10 Calumets and a couple of 4x5's for location.
I was doing a job for Shakespeare Fishing in FL. that had to be shot on 8x10.
We had 10 or 12 rods held in position with C-Stands on this jetty. At the right time a sailboat would pass thru the scene in the distance to be OOF. The hard part was my tripod was in the ocean up to the head. My assistant had a tough time keeping those film holders above his head.
The good old days.

Back in the day I shot hundreds of photos for Brown Shoe Co.
It was typical to have black patent leather shoes in the same shot as white shoes or even blue suede. These were all B/W. I used hot lights with exposures in the neighborhood of 15 secs.(4x5 camera @ f/45)
During that time I would use a hand held light and paint the black shoes. Even then I would tell my processor: "2 minute waterbath and pull 40%." I would still sometimes have to do extensive dodging and burning. Cheating? Can't get it all in a quick single exposure! What to do?
Recently I went out of country (Costa Rica) on an assignment for a travel company. Blue Bird skies both days. Customer wants nice clouds for pretty pictures. What to do?
Do what you have to do.
Ansel Adams was a master @ post processing.

I always shoot in Raw format. I think without Lightroom it would be harder to develop and process the images.

I noticed you are in Kingston, Georgia.
Small world...that is where us "kids" ran off to elope. I lived in Green Cove Springs, Florida. I eloped with my high school sweetheart back in the 70's.

Please do not take offense but, that is your opinion and your statement is more than a little misleading. While I appreciate the fact that you may have found the tool to be of great value, you are leading others toward a tool which may or may not be worth their spending time and money. While Lightroom is an excellent program, it is no where near necessary for raw image processing or image management and there are a number of programs as good or better, depending on your work flow or other tools at your disposal. While many will find Lightroom to be a useful tool there are other that will find it to be a waste of money.

As I recall photographing an orange was my first project in Commercial Photo 101 (1970). There are at least 32 different lighting situations possible. I learned many things about lighting that I still use today.

If you are concerned about the "blue" shifts shoot on a neutral blanket/background. The blue blanket will surely add blue to the photos.
Cute pix.
