Picasa has been having problems lately. Your Photos are fine...they are on your computer. Something has made Picasa crash. I've had it since 2000 and never had a problem, yesterday...'wiped out'. Uninstalled-reinstalled all is working so far. You Pictures that were formerly there, will NOT be there, however, they ARE on your computer. Mine are in my Library. Just have to start over or do something with the Data Base, which takes a while. I have been on the Picasa site and this seems to be happening...still a good 'free' program!

I guess I didnt say it the way my brain thought it...just that I look at many sites read many books and it seems that the only pictures/shots that get noticed are the ones who have special lighting or a ton of PP going on.
I was just putting this question out as to get others views on how they feel about it. That's all...
If you actually look at the 'great shots'...they were just plain luck...right place/right time...

Just curious what others may think...when we use lighting and props and put our subjects at just the right spot, even if is out doors at a picnic...isn't that just like 'Still Life'?
I think we are all missing the point...isn't a 'snap shot' what we have to 'remember or put our viewer' into a time that you can not recapture? Such as Street Photography or even just a back yard picnic? You can only hope you get that 'Perfect' one.
If we need sooo much gear, other than your camera and you...isn't that all a little like PP with out the programs?
Just a thought, and maybe what this whole country needs to get back to...simple values...would like to hear others opinions...be honest, but not mean spirited...just your views. Thanks...coz I'm kinda lost at everything I see out there...its like, it isn't even real.

Thank you all!! So nice to get input on something your just not sure about. Most of my shots I like, but sometimes I think I crop too much. Great to get different points of view!

Thank you and I will check those out! I was referring to something similar to this...did I crop too much? No PP was done to this other than the crop. I understand that everyone is different as to what they like, just curious as to when you went too far and left the story behind and its then just a 'snap'.

not talking about macro...but thank you for your input. I am talking in general. I think sometimes we 'cut' too much out, not realizing it. Macro, is a world onto itself...and its awesome!

I have been on here awhile, and I have learned soooo much from everyone, even if it is just looking at the shots. I noticed that quite a few of 'us' crop really tight. Is this because we want to 'show' the crispness of a shot? Because the more I look at others photos, then, at my own...by doing this we seem to be cutting some of 'the story' out. I am one of those people, who for some darned reason think that 'everything' must be perfectly sharp...whether its the eyes, or the petals...but sometime, that shot becomes 'boring', as you don't 'see' around the subject. I am not much of a landscape photographer (I enjoy those), but I have noticed my shots are just 'static'...even though they are sharp. Does this make sense and where do you go from there?
Any and all insight is eagerly awaiting! And thank you all in advance, because I live on an Island off of Belize and do NOT always have wifi...
