I like what you've done. I have this software and haven't had a chance to explore it. I wii now find time. Thanks!

The push pull version is an EXCELLENT lens. I have both versions and just can't seem to let go of the push/pull 100-400

[quote=Peterff]You could always buy a lens coat if you are concerned: http://www.lenscoat.com/lenscoatsuptmsup-canon-70300mm-f456l-p-1360.html

Or you could wear 'black-face' make up and a hoodie and your cameras would be the least of your problems! Nobody would give them a second thought!
.........

You probably did not mean it, but this is quite offensive to some.

Thank you Pockets. I used a Canon 7D MK II with a Tamron 16-300mm lens - it gives me just about any focal length I could ask for.

i love the way you imagined this. Very effective and clean.

What lens did you use. I am very interested in architectural photography.

Did it once just to see how it would turn out. I got quite a few good captures.

This fellow certainly does some beautiful work. You might want to consider making a step chart from 0 to 100% black in 5% increments, then having this fellow print it. Then you can set the tones in PS to match what you want in the image. For example, if you have an area in the image that you want to look like the 55% black area of the step chart, then adjust your image in PS so that the area is 55% black and you will get exactly that tone from the printer. You can do the same thing in RGB values between 0 and 255 if you work in RGB (this is what I do). If you have access to a reflection densitometer you can also make a handy graph of reflection density (zones) vs. % black.
This fellow certainly does some beautiful work. Yo... (show quote)

Excellent suggestions! I will try this. Thanks. Jackm1943!

Pockets; I know this doesn't answer your question but, in all due respect, I think you would be better off spending a few days with a program such as Elements or Photoshop and make your own conversions. I bet in no time you could be doing very fine work.

Actually, I do use PS and also Silver Effects for conversation and processing. I'm "learning" a workflow for processing long exposure fine art B&W. I recently took a workshop with this artist. http://www.juliaannagospodarou.com/Architecture/Architecture/ If you check out this site, you will understand better why the lab processing is do important. Thanks for responding! Dee

Hi. If I may ask. I am an MPIX user and love everything they do. Had two problems in 5 years and they took care of the very next day. My question is, what are you not satisfied with their true black and white photos. I have never, no I was about to say I hadn't done any B & W but I do remember one of granddaughter in a swimming pool and I thought it was real nice. Thanks

Tom

Hi, Tom. Generally I love Mpix, but I'm venturing into fine art B&W and my expectations of the tonal range are greater. I had them print a pic twice...the whites just seemed to have a it if sepia tone that is not in the digital. Also, the subtleties in the darker range just didn't print well. I created a pic that son and award. I want a nice print to enlarge.
