I don't know if I will ever go mirrorless. I'm heavily invested in Nikon DSLRs and they continue to fill all my needs. Seems like all the herd members jump on board anything new and "exciting". I'm more interested in tried and true and functional. Not interested in FLASHBANG OH HOW COOL BOY I'M GOING THERE SINCE ALL THE OTHER COOL PEOPLE ARE ALREADY THERE AND I JUST DON'T FEEL COMFORTABLE BACK HERE WITH ALL THE WANNABES!
Did I get carried away??

Not at all! I am heavily invested in DSLR’s as well! I feel like you are not alone at all in your loyalty to DSLR’s!

Hi, Everyone! I hope I’m posting in the correct area. Last year, I bought the intro Nikon Z50. Basically to replace my Nikon D7200. As I get older, the weight of the camera inflames the arthritis in my hands at times. It seems that Mirrorless is the way of the future, but I’m having a hard time getting used to the Z50. It’s lightweight and easy to understand and operate, but I miss using my D7200, which I still have by the way. I was considering selling it to KEH. Do you guys feel like the DSLR is soon to be a camera of the past? I actually bought the adaptor and use most of my F mount lenses. Just wondering how many of you are using a Nikon Z camera and your thoughts about them. Thanks!

Grandpa with grand daughter

Good Morning! What a beautiful topic and photos! This photo was taken with my iPhone in transit. I noticed this big white single cloud against the blue sky that was shaped like a tornado. I wanted to get a picture, but the traffic was too dense. When I got to an area where there weren’t any cars, I looked up and the “tornado” cloud had turned into an abstract heart, much like you see on many of today’s cards/media. Well, it’s been a rough stretch over the last two years with the most recent event being the passing of my baby brother at age 61. That wispy heart cloud in the sky was my comforting valentine!

Cheap and quality do not go together.

Cheap laptop work as others more expensive laptop, they are just of a lesser quality in components and features. CPU is not as powerful, less RAM, less disk space - likely not upgradable - the video might be slow too as to the screen...

Still they do work, just slow. Look at DELL, they have base models same for LG and other brand.

Actually, I did a quick search and found out some really decent laptops on Amazon.

Look for IPS screen and above 16GB RAM, a few have 32GB! Also all have 1TB drive.

Thank you! And I totally understand. A basic Dell is on many top 10 lists for my criteria. If I were a professional, I would definitely go in a different direction.

Hello, Eveyone! I am looking for recommendations for a quality laptop up to $800 with good graphics for photo editing. (I am not interested in a Mac Book, and, yes, I know they are not in that price range, or buying used 😉) Thank you so much!

HI mgstrawn,
you know, we are all so quick to complain and bitch and moan about how terrible some companies and suppliers are, bad service, slow replies etc. It's so nice and refreshing to see a post like this. "credit where credit's due! We should all take note and do it more often. Not only to make the company feel good about themselves, but also as a recommendation for the rest of us to take a note of! Thank you,
Ray.

Yes, in a world where everyone is so quick to complain, I try to accentuate the good whenever I can. Thank you!

It's more than two years that I have my Z50.
I still have some issues getting used to the EV, I used to shoot with a D5300.
I still like the instant viewfinder of the DSLR , but I really like the 11fps vs 5fps and the additional controls.
My issue is that the sensor on the Z50 gets dirty.
I took it to Nikon to be cleaned, and I don't think that they did a good job.
I was shooting some airplanes landing the other day, and the spots were in the same place in the sky.
I am going to take it back to Nikon for another cleaning, before Beach season starts.

I have the D7200 which is known to have sensor spots. I took it to be cleaned, but it was never perfect. Thank you for the heads up on the Z50 as well.

Fantastic set!! I've got a Z6 and love the silent/stealth feature and use it all the time - people complain that they never know when I'm taking their picture! Bwahahaaa!!!

Lol! The problem was I shot about 900+ photos because I didn’t realize how many I was taking!

Just returned from a four-day jaunt to the Red River Gorge area of Kentucky. Shot this one yesterday in the rain. One second shutter holding the camera on top of a barrier post. Heavily cropped (only took a WA zoom with me on the 0.6 mile hike from the car).

Needs to be on a canvas!

Ok this is it…. Free Sunday I mean, of course. I would love to see any of your left overs you didn’t get a chance to post, or any new images you would like to share. I’ve got a few from our whirlwind weekend to California last weekend to witness granddaughter #1 graduating from Pepperdine University.

Thank you for hosting. Your photos are amazing - especially your family! You need to put the mountain stream on canvas and offer it for sale!

There’s nothing like a high school matinee on the weekend. My grandson, Elliot, was in “Shrek, the Musical” playing the minor part of Captain Hook. I just purchased the Nikon Mirrorless camera, the entry level Z50, and it has been a challenge to get used to. Since no flash was allowed, I enjoyed this opportunity to practice my low light/night skills. This cool little camera has a totally silent mode, so I was able to shoot to my heart’s content without disturbing anyone. I still have a ways to go before I’m totally comfortable. Here are some of my favorite shots - shooting through the audience about 40 feet from the stage - using the Nikon 50-200mm.
