East of Yosemite is Mono lake and Ghost town of Bodie. Often rated in top ten places in US to photograph. Mono lake visiters center offers evening walks that are great. Mammouth Mt. is close and you can ride the tram to the top for great vista's. The court house and old school house at Bridgeport are neat also. Death Valley has great photo locations.

Hello BW326: I do wood carving. It does not require a large financial cost, doesn't take a lot of space, and can be set aside for periods of time when other actavities require attention. A good carving knife is $18 to $35 and Basswood is not expensive and there are many forms such as carving, relief carvind, and chip carving. There are wood carving clubs all over the country. Look up wood carving on the internet.

We will be touring with Country Travel Discoveries (Was World Wide Country Tours)Sept. 29 th Oct 7 than 4 days in the Boston area and 5 days in and around Clinton Jew Jersey searching family history around Oldwick NJ. Plan to stop at West Point and go to Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty.
World Wide was great we went with them 6 times including "Mistery Tours" to Pittsburg and DC. Just purchased clear, ND, and polorizing filters for the lenses I am taking. Again thank you all for the advice.

The tour starts in Hartford, goes to Sturbridge,Concord,Boston, Ogunquit,North Conway, Lincoln,Franconia Notch, Mt Washington,Montpelier, Barre,South Deerfield, and Stockbridge.
Is my selection fo Photo equipment what is needed for thease locations.

Will be on a tour of New England Fall colors Sept. 29 to Oct.7. First time to this part of the country. Will be taking Canon 40D, 10-22 and 24-105L.

I just spent 3 weeks in San Diego with my grandchildren. I normaly use the 24-105 L as me walk around but in the bay area to get shots of the Midway,Sailing vessels, US and Soviet Subs I had to go to the 10-22. Don't miss the statue of the sailer and nurse kissing and the Bob Hope exibit to the left of the Midway. Also the wide angle is needed to isolate air planes on the deck of the Midway.

Near Langley WA on Whidbey Island had eagles fishing when I was last there.
New to this: Bolsa Chica at Huntington Beach, Upper Newport Bay ER. and Laguna Laural as well as Lake Barbara are excelent for birds and critters. Dana Point has the tall ships.
