I have held the Canon t4i and it'sa nice fit, have not been able to locate anyne carrying the Sony, you have any suggestions on who would have the Sony on hand?

I agree with snowbear. If the camera feels good that's what you should try also look into a photo club in your area. see if you can locate one and if so maybe someone there will have a camera that you can try. There are also places online that you can rent a camera from to try before you buy.

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions.

I googled error 99 and tried ALL the suggestions I could find, to no avail; called Canon, walked through a few things with them, still no go. I sent it to my brother, who lives in a very large city with lots of camera repair shops and also knows some professional photographers.

I DO have a P&S... but it's just not the same.

I have also looked at the sites listed here, among others, on getting a used (or new!) t3i or 60D.... whichever one I decide on I'll still have to wait a while for, as my last name is not Jobs or Rockefeller, and my most recent lens purchase depleted my "photography" fund.

You should see me on Thursdays... the day our local radio station gives away $1000 at a certain time of day - - I'm frantically dialing and re-dialing on my land-line phone, while doing the same thing with my cell phone! LOL!!
Thanks for all the replies and suggestions. br br... (show quote)

Look at QVC...They have a T3i for $999.00 with an 18-55mm & a 55-250mm Both with IS and its on easy pay. 5 payments of about 200.00 on a credit card each month. and you get it in about a week. I think they also have just the body if you already have the lens...And if you use a Debit card there is no interest charged by the card co.

I just want to take this opportunity to thank all the UHH members who I have conversed with over the winter months. It was pointed out to me today via PM that I am the 4th most prolific poster on this site, and that the first 3 are all women!!! LOL
I have made mention of the fact that once the summer hits I will be gone most of the time and have little internet access. Well, Friday is the last day of school for my 10 year old daughter, I am a single dad so school is a big deal to me, and we will be hitting the road for the summer in the camper. Yellowstone is first for a week, then we hit Olympic National Park for 2 weeks and then to points unknown for the rest of the summer.
For those of you that have my email, I would be glad to reply to your questions as I always have. For anyone who wants it, Roadglide9@gmail.com
I may take a few days to answer as I said before, internet is limited on the road, at least the roads I frequent.
It has been a pleasure to be a member here, and I am to this day humbled by the tribute thread that seemed like it would never end.
Again remember my motto, "When in doubt, shoot it again!" After all, megapixels are free!
Happy shooting to all and I hope to meet up with a few of you this summer!
Hi Ho Silver....AWAY!!!!
I just want to take this opportunity to thank all ... (show quote)

How would we keep it straight as to who they go to next? Make different lists?

That shouldn't be too hard. Who ever just goes to the next person on the list. If you are contacting before sending shouldn't be a problem. They would know they have one of the cousins coming already and could send you on to the next person.

Hobo should be on his way to me. He should be here on Monday. I will let everyone know when he gets here...

Rachel, where are your Hobo photos?

Now then, I don't want to hear any 'Homeland Security' excuses, Bourbon St isn't that bad, but it can be pretty close ;-).

Eric

He should be on his way here (Va. Beach). Rachel sent me a pm last week and said she would be sending him this way on monday... Just came home from work and he's not here yet...

I just got a T3i for Christmas and love it. The screen flips all the way around so it can lay flat against the camera either facing you or facing the camera (for protection). For faster processing, you could just get a bigger memory card - cheaper than the upgrade to the 60D.

A faster or bigger memory card won't help... The 60D shoots 5.3fps and the T3i shoots 3.3fps . Also I think my XTi unloaded the buffer faster than my T3i but that might be me. The T3i does shoot @ 18mp as opposed to 10.1 mp for the XTi... The following is a link to a utube video comparing the two.

Don't get me wrong...I Love the T3i...I just need faster fps for the nieces & nephews ball games this summer...

I currently have a Canon Rebel Xti and I am seriously thinking about upgrading to either the T2i or the T3i. I've read some reviews but just am uncertain as to which would suit me better. The one thing that I question is the T3i movable screen and whether this is more of a hinderance than useful. In one review it appears like you can use the screen in various positions to see the subject of your picture before taking the shot. I'm use to only using my DSLR screen to view pics after the shot - so not sure about this moveable thing. Opinions?

I use to own an XTi and last Nov. I decided to upgrade and went with the T3i. I wanted the movable screen so I went with it. With a movable screen You can mount the camera on a monopod and take pics from different angles and if you are in a crowd then you can use it to get better pics with the live view and a wireless remote control. However if you will be shooting fast moving subjects like baseball or soccer games or birds in flight, where you will take several shots in a row than you might want the 60D as the processing is much faster on the 60D . I found this out after it was too late to return my T3i so I will probably get the 60D in may or june of this year. I should have done more research on them and I didn't realize the 60D also has the articulating screen...And I passed the XTi on to my sister who loves it.

When will it become a probe up someone's neither region to make them answer the call of some telemarketer if you refuse the call?

I am all for progress but there are limits, one of them being the human body modified for someone else convenience.

I agree with you   I don't answer my phone at work ( if I brought it that day ) or if Im in line at a store. I have had strangers ask me if I'm gonna answer my phone and I just look at them and say NO...I get the strangest looks...I often leave my phone at home when I go to work Or just take off for a while and some people think that is weird...
