Switched over to Nikon and these are the last items to go, was holding onto them in case I switched back but that's not going to happen any time soon so these need to go.......... The current conditions are not over stated, I don't play that game. They have been well taken care of.

Canon 17-40L f4, EF, USM in a Canon soft pouch and in EXCELLENT condition with lens hood and end caps.
Retails for $749, ASKING $490

Canon 18-135 EF-S, f3.5-5.6 IS STM lens, in LIKE NEW condition with box and everything it comes with when new.
Retails for $399, ASKING $290

Canon MR-14EX Macro Ring Lite in EXCELLENT condition.
Retails for $549, ASKING $350

ALSO selling one of my big Nikon Lenses, which ever one does not sell is the one I am keeping since I'd be very happy with either one, just can't keep both!!!

New 500mm f4 VR N ED lens. Bought new for $7000. Comes with hard carry case, camo lens coat which was put on as soon as I got the lens and everything else that came with it new. Used it a few times, produces tac sharp images. Asking $6600

Used but in very good condition 600mm f4 VR ED lens. It's currently at C.R.I.S. Camera repair for cleaning and replacement of the silent wave motor. When I bought it, it had a squeak when it auto focused in cold weather. I opted to have it repaired for $745 for a new silent wave motor. This is a fantastic lens that has produced some great humming bird photos for me. Asking $6900. Comes with hard carry case, camo lens coat, camo travel lens coat, tripod foot, etc.

Like I said, which ever one sells I'll keep the other lens.

No trades, will not ship out of state without cash in hand first.

Will send photos to serious buyers only. Will have to wait on photos of the 600mm, won't have it back till after Christmas, Nikon has the silent wave motors on back order.

Thanks for Looking

I'll 2nd Sabino Canyon... keep your eye on the ground, that's where I spotted a horny toad, first one I've seen since I was a little kid living in Albuquerque, some 50yrs ago.

Lots to photograph in that area... A drive up Mt Lemon would be great also...

They both accomplish the same task but wireless allows you to set up the camera a lot further away and still operate the shutter release. Great for wildlife. You would be surprised at how far most of them will work! I have both and use the wireless for more remote camera operation and the tethered for landscape and photos of that nature (especially with the mirror up function.

CaptainC is correct... the only real difference is fewer pixels in the crop mode so when you enlarge the photo it will look noisier because you have fewer pixels to work with. I hope this makes sense!

Thanks for all the comments... I always take a regular bird feeder and hummingbird feeders. I not only load up the regular feeder but also put a lot of feed on the ground and on the perches. Bark butter works great for the back side of branches. I'll take a knife, carve out a little notch on the back side of a branch and put seed or bark butter there so it's hidden from camera view. Here are some other pics take at the same location using this method.

I always search Craig's List first for all my camera equipment needs. As long as you know what to look for in a used piece of equipment, you can save a lot of money and you would be surprised how much unused equipment is out there...

Last weekend we attended a Lance Travel Trailer rally at Usery State Park in Mesa Arizona, only a few miles from our home. Any time we go camping I set up feeders to see what the desert will bring in and I was really pleased to see this mated couple of Gambel Quails come to the site. The first is the male and the 2nd photo is the female. I think this is the best photo I have of a female Gambel Quail, she's beautiful...

I hope you Enjoy the photo's, I haven't posted anything in a long time!

Boy, you always open a can of worms when asking for opinions (20 photographers and 20 opinions lol...) The 17-55 f2.8 IS USM is really made for the cropped sensor of the 7D MKII, if you don't need the zoom range of like the 24-105 f4 (which I really like, but is better suited for the Full frame like the 5D MKIII) then the 17-55 is a stellar performer on the 7D MKII. I had this set-up and it does really well and on occasion when I did shoot video, you'll like the smooth operation that the USM provides, and at 1/2 the price of the 24-70 f2.8L and a lot lighter.

As noted above on the 28-300, I've heard a lot of good things about this lens (weight not being one of them...)

My 2cents... Good Luck and post what you ended up deciding on!

OK, here is my 2 cents on the photo but please understand, "EVERY" photographer will have a different point of view and a different take on any given photo so keep that in mind.

For me the leafs with the glare are distracting from the beauty of the fall color of the leaf that looks to be the center of attention.

Try to isolate a leaf that:
1) has that fall color
2) that's in really good condition (not damaged)
3) where you can blur the background yet use a small enough aperture to capture all the leaf details.

Does that make sense?

You can probably find some good information on the lens you are using and at what aperture you shoot at to understand how much clarity you will have in front of and behind your image. Or, take a bunch of shots of the same image with each progressive shot taken at a smaller (higher number) aperture and see what it does to your image. Probably the best thing you can do is shoot, shoot, shoot...

Hope this helps!

I've been a member for a while but don't get on too often, the J.O.B. is getting in the way!

I'm a Canon shooter with a 5D MKIII and the 7D MKII on order. I love to photograph wildlife (especially hummingbirds) when we go camping up north of Phoenix, around the Woods Canyon Lake area. That's 30 miles East of Payson AZ.

If any of you snow birds are coming this way for the winter and are looking for some local hot spots drop me a note and I'll make some suggestions.

Look forward to hearing from some folks!

This was our last camping trip this season to Woods Canyon Lake. The fall colors are in full display and I tried to capture as much of that as possible. Only got a few pics with those colors in it.

I had seed down for some of the smaller critters that come into the camp site but once the elk found it (also included some cracked corn) it was all over. They came to our site every night! Hence the close up. The head shot was at full frame.

Enjoy, comments always welcome!

I stopped buying anything Sony when my Play station 3 was rendered un-usable after a required software update from Sony was applied. There were 1000's of complaints about this happening and Sony never acknowledged that they had an issue with that software update and refused to correct the problem.

That was several years ago and I haven't bought a Sony product since and never will. Lots of choices out there and companies with this kind or consumer support should take notice. Maybe that's why the company is struggling.

Fight back with your dollars and support only those companies that care about their customers.
