Definitely!
Love this lens, and I was able to get it for 300 used.
Tokina 11-16 f2.8 is a good one, built like a tank. You will need to get the in lens autofocusing
version - DX II I believe. Great for wide angle shooting and Milky Way shots.

Yeah, me too, so what. Why come on here and be a dick?
Hello again! I didn't see this post until much later. What did you decide to do?
I have the original Tamron 150-600 and now the G2 with the 1.4x converter
and have some thoughts after shooting it through the summer. I can post some
pics too if you are still working on what to do.
Great shots! Glad to see you are trying the new lens. Did you give it a shot
at f2 and 1/640th, seems iso would be a little better for you. Might get you
under iso 2000. All depends on how dark these gyms are for you!
The answer is always D7200.
Selling my back up camera and lenses. This has been a great camera
setup for me, I have two D7200's now. I'll check the exact shutter count but
it should be under 18k, everything is in good shape and works like it should.
Included is the D5300 camera body, three batteries, charger, neck strap, case,
the excellent Nikon 18-140mm lens, and the super sharp 35mm f1.8 lens,
Guide book and travel bag. Price is $575.00 shipped in the lower 48 and I
take paypal. This is a killer deal for somebody looking for a complete setup!
I am willing to separate if needed.

It's a great town. My roommate in college was from Missouri, I spent a lot
of time roaming around that state with him on spring breaks- mainly House Springs and south. Loved it!

I borrowed my buddies Tamron 70-200 f2.8 lens tonight to shoot my favorite
college hockey team. (I am biased of course as I'm an alumni and my son and cousin #7 attends)
I shot some through the glass and some over for the first time. I should definitely
add this lens to my list - specifically the newest version G2, the one I used
is the older one pre G1. Shot with a d7200 at f2.8 1/640 and auto iso, which landed around
1250 typically, EV +3. I forgot to try center point metering to force it to expose
for the jerseys and not the ice, but it was still very good. Corrected quickly & slightly in Lightroom.
Oh, they won 3-1 and are undefeated, ranking 1st in the Nation - Frozen Four
here we come!
Second is great, espcially with the water droplets off the feet and the lighting of the underside
of the wing. Nothing beats the golden hour for light.
I borrowed my friends 70-200 f2.8 for tonight's game and will try to shoot some from above the glass this time.
I am traveling light beyond that and threw in my 35 f1.8 for when I set behind the goal and capture
the crashing towards the net. As far as the 85mm vs the 50mm - you can consider the f1.8 version
as well, its pretty cheap and works great, I shoot the 1.4 at f2 anyway. I find the 85mm is on my camera 80% of the time, shoot senior pics, indoor
sports etc - It's my favorite. I find the extra f stops makes a huge difference in quality for the
dark gyms and rinks, allowing for lower iso and more cropping.
I forgot to add, I use a d7200.
I like the d7200 so much that I just bought another one to upgrade my sons d5300. I thought I was going to get a d500
and just give my d7200 to him. Being able to get the the d7200 for around 600 used and a refurbed d500 for 1400,I couldn't justify
the 800. I've had it for almost a year and shot the d5300 before that - I can't see going back! I will sell the d5300
once we get the new one on Friday. I think the quick access to all the features is what I love the best.
