Quite Nice. I don't know Luminar, but with Photoshop you can "burn" the bright house light down or even remove it leaving just black shadow in its place.

Thanks. I’ll have to figure that out. I think there is a way in Luminar too.

Here are some Milky Way photos from Aug 18. Critique welcome. Novice photographer. First attempts at Milky Way.

Sony a7iii Tamron 17-28mm. Tripod. Wired remote. Lightly edited in Luminar 4.

I don't know if these are any good or not. I can lighten to an almost daylight look, but that seems unnatural.

Prefer 1370 or 1371?

Thanks for looking.

A lucky shot? I turned it Black and White because the house has a bright light on.

28mm f2.8 20sec ISO3200 Aug 18 near Salida, CO.
Edited lightly in Luminar 4. I don't know how to dim the bright light in Luminar 4.

I am an amateur and don't know if these are any good or not! I'd welcome feedback and suggestions. All taken with Sony a7iii and Tamron 150-500mm on tripod with wire remote. From my patio in Salida, Colorado.

Note dates on photos: I think the best one is from Aug 2, an earlier super moon. One is from Aug 31 in the morning, as the moon was setting. I know the moon is blown out in 2 shots. I do minimal editing in Luminar 4 (no Lightroom). I don't focus stack or combine photos. I have not figured out masking yet. I had trouble focusing on Aug 31 at night. I think DSC1408(2) is too dark and over-processed with too much detail... Thanks for looking!

Can you find the folders with the images before Luminar edits?
Mark

Yes. There are sooo many! I’ll see if I can relink that way. Thx. Just do not understand how they all disappeared.

Also—I mis-wrote. Skylum does support Luminar 4. I am having trouble with Corel Video Studio too and they no longer support 2020 version. Want me to buy 2023 now. I may try DaVinci Resolve instead.

You do a Google search or YouTube search on "merging Luminar catalogues".

That’s what I should have done! Will check it out. Thx.

I was trying to merge Luminar 3 catalog and Luminar 4 catalog. Now I have neither! I can find Luminar 4 catalog on my hard drive, but there is nothing there. No Luminar 3 listed now. I do not know what the triangle with ! is---believe Luminar has lost location of folder when I unplugged external hard drive. But plugged back in...still no connection. I had hundreds of folders in Luminar 4 Library column on right. Now only a random 2-4 show up, some grayed out. Cannot find any online help. comment from Luminar Support was brief and I did not understand. Now I have fewer folders than when I contacted them 2 days ago. And I believe they "no longer support Luminar 4." I am truly lost and very frustrated. No idea why this happened. I have used Lumiinar 4 successfully for several year. I bought Neo but have not had space to install it. Do not have A1/AI. Attaching screenshots of Catalog and Luminar 4 screen. Virtually no folders on right side. I am afraid to uninstall....but would that work? Thanks for any help! (seriously thinking of moving to Lightroom!!!)

I used to live 10 miles up Hwy 9 from Canon City. I retired from DOC. I now live in Eastern Idaho. I have a brother in Canon still.

Yes, O’Haver is beautiful.

Nice! Idaho is beautiful too. We are from MI. 6 yrs in Littleton. Then daughter and grands moved to Salida so we did too. Enjoy it very much. Nice town. Gorgeous area. Should be lots of photographers! I have only met 2—both over 80. 1 still active with her photography so I’ll partner with her if I can.

You might also try to include members in Canon City as well. There is lots to photograph in Salina and Canon City as well. Have you been to O'Haver Lake yet? It is one of the most beautiful mountain lakes I have found. The road there also leads up to Mt. Ouray and then down the other side to the town of Sargent.

Dennis

Yes, anyone would be welcome of course! Beautiful drive to Canon City too. Do you live there?
I love O’Haver Lake. Want to do that drive to Sargent when the aspens turn. And then stop for elk meatloaf in Sargent!
