It's pretty, as sunsets go...that said, I'd crop half of the sky out and bring out the true subject, der bridge. It'd look great in a pano-like aspect ratio, IMO.

I cringe inside when someone says “Thank you for your service” or “Welcome home” especially if they are so young their parents weren’t even born yet when I got back. I know they mean well, but the time that should have come was a long time ago.

...yeah, the "TYFYS" gets to me, too, but "Welcome Home" from a VN vet is extra special and always engenders a handshake and chuckle (one of those "whew" things)...

Clean for me, but facial hair interferes with my embochure for tuba playing, so there's that...

If there is no level then the camera can't control the aperture on G lenses. There is a level. It's inside the flange (not outside like the aperture feeler tab which the FTZ doesn't have). This level exist in all F mount Nikon and originally it's called the stop down level. Originally it will stop the lens down to the set aperture on the aperture ring during the actual exposure. Later on when Nikon introduced the FA this level became the aperture control level that is leaving the aperture ring in the minimum position would allow the camera to use this level to stop the lens down to any aperture. When Nikon introduced the G lens with no aperture ring this level is the only mean to control the aperture. With the new E type lenses with electronic diaphragm there is no need for this level but the FTZ has to have it to operate the G type lenses which are the majority of the Nikon F mount lenses out there.
If there is no level then the camera can't control... (show quote)

<shrug> I really could not care less. I'm all in on the Z lenses...yah, I have a few f-mount around the house and they all work with the FTZ. And a "level" is not a "lever"...

As was discussed in a separate conversation here, the Nikon Z adaptor does, in fact, have a mechanical aperture actuator lever. It will operate "non-E" lenses just fine.

...no lever on mine! Do you have one *with* a lever?

The FTZ has no aperture actuator in it.
You seem dazed and confused.

...yes, the adapter is only to provide the proper flange distance to the sensor on the Z camera. There is absolutely no motor, either.

Can I use my old Nikon lenses(used for D70),do I have to get a mount to use those lenses in Z50

...no, you have to use the adapter (FTZ) and that's a cost. But, if you get the Z50 with the 2 kit lenses (a 16/24 and a 50/250) it will provide great shots for your trip...and be light and small. I own that combo, along with a Z6II and a Z9, and find myself using it alot!

Available in 8 days. I've been an ON1 user for years as an adjunct to Lightroom Classic. With this latest upgrade called ON1 Max, I'm finally migrating fully to it. Great stuff they are doing which, in turn, prompts folks like Adobe to speed up their improvements.

...how do you plan on migrating your lightroom cataloging? I'm interested in an academic sense, I've no plan to dump the LR/PS combo anytime soon.

Yes I have it, love it, use as my primary for Raw processing. And yes (IMO) Now is the time to get ON1. I also highly recommend, (Not that you asked for my recommendations) Photo Shop Elements.

Thanks,
Boone.

...thanks for the response, Boone. I've been a PS/LR user for as long as they've been around,so will pass on the PS Elements recommendation. What I'm asking is, if users see good improvement in ON! between the '23 and '24 versions (where I've been using ON! '23 as a plug-in).

Anyone upgraded or bought-in? I have the 2023 version, it's not my primary editing software but comes in handy for a few things...wondering if the newest offers that much more?
