Nice shots. I have quite a few of dragonflys and shot some this past weekend. I was by a creek and there were a lot of them and what I noticed was that if I got close, 3', to one he would fly off and come back just about as long as I wanted to stay there. I never noticed it before but it seems they like to come back to the same spot.

There are many resources on the web but I have learned quite a bit from Phil Steele. http://steeletraining.com/tutorials_access.htm He has many free tutorals and some that you purchase. He is mainly a Canon guy so you will like that. I use 3 Nikon speedlights and I really like it. You have a lot of control adn they are easy to take with you. I use 1, 2, and somtimes 3. Hope the link helps you.

Beautiful shot, I agree it looks better without the green

well, I like it. Have you tried it without the green spot? I just have to try it here because I sure can't decide if it's better without...

...hmmm, I tested it, and I think it's a little more pleasant without. To me, the green spot kinda says, "Hello, I am a photograph" whereas without it the 'manufactured-by-a-camera' aspect is not so out front.
Nice pic, though!
(I think a larger version would be good if you are soliciting critiques - I would anticipate others requesting that.)
Hey, an old friend of mine lives in Morro Bay - is that her? Nice place!

I wouldn't.

I've never tried to capture birds in flight, and I think I'll leave it that way. Landscapes don't move very much.

I am going to a family reunion Friday and ran across this picture of my mom and two of her brothers and sisters. I have spent two days on this and have posted my best attempt. The highlights are blown out, lots of noise, and scratches. I know that it is so bad it can't be made like new but I would really like to take it with me if it can be salvaged. If it can be made decent for a 5x7 that would be great but will settle for 4x6.

Just so I am very clear, I want to pay for this service. I know there are some really talented people that can do this on the forum and that is who I am looking for. No offense intended but unless you really know how to restore and can do a lot better than mine please don't answer. I need this done by Thursday afternoon. Please print a copy to make sure it prints alright, I did a couple that looked pretty good and the print was horrible for some reason, I think blown out but not sure.

Please PM if interested. I can pay by PayPal, credit card, or send you a check. Thank you very much. John

I agree Buddy, if he likes it and his clients like it who cares if I do or not.

I am no pro by any means but perhaps it is because it was done so differently I can't really figure out if I like it or not. However you are doing what you want to do and in the manner that you want. So it really makes no difference what I or anyone else says. Thank you for posting and letting us see it.

I tend to agree, sorry but for a portrait seems out of focus and very different.

I want to say this with all the respect deserved, it looks like you put a lot of time into that, and I appreciate you posting, but why did you use such low resolution pictures?

They look very poor quality in terms of sharpness, lighting, and even composition. The image included in the post is hazy and almost looks double exposed.
