Grabbed the Macro and attracted a fair amount of attention from neighbors while lying on my stomach shooting these newly arrived mushrooms.

I'm probably mistaken but I think they are toadstools, not mushrooms. No matter 'cause that's one great shot.

I just got back from vacation and have a hundred plus images that my wife wants 4x6 prints made for scrap-booking. We usually get them done at Walmart and they are acceptable for her purpose, but we have a new Costco and was wondering what their quantity 4x6 prices are. Can someone help me, and thanks.

If you have a Walgreen's close by, they're running two specials on 4x6 prints. Thru June 30th, 9 cent prints on any amount as far as I can tell. The second deal, 10 cent prints on 100 or more thru June 29. They usually run these specials around holidays. Quality is good.

Do you see enough of a difference between the 18-270 and 16-300 to warrant an upgrade?

I used the 18-270 on a Canon 70D and was most happy with the results. When the 16-300 came out I thought, "Well, if the 18-270 is good then the 16-300 must be better." I chose to upgrade and certainly haven't been dissapointed with this len's performance on the Canon 70D either. I'm only a hobbyist, not a photography pro, so no, personally I can't see much of a difference now that I've compared pictures taken with each lens. I will say this though, "If Tamron ever comes out with a 14-400 I'll buy one."

I had the exact same problem with my Canon 80D. Contacted Canon and they advised me to contact Tamron. Did that and since the lens was still under warranty, Tamron fixed it. Needed to be updated to the 80D. Took about a week. Anway, the lens works perfectly now. Still learning about the 80D and so far I love it.

Thanks for the encouraging info on both counts Willaim. Much appreciated. You know the funny thing about this, my Tamron 18-270 (purchased March, 2013) worked perfectly on the 80D. Go figure! Again, thanks.

I would like to get a lens with more reach than 200mm. I have been looking at the Tamron 16-300mm lens for a decent walking around lens. I have done the search and read the comments, most of those were when the lens first appeared.

My question is, for those who have had the lens awhile, how do you like it, was it worth buying?

Thanks for your help.

I used the Tamron 16-300 on my Canon 70D beginning June, 2014 with great results. Of all the lenses I have I used it the most. Recently I upgraded to the new Canon 80D. The Tamron 16-300 worked perfectly with all modes of the 80D EXCEPT Live View. When using Live View the camera would lock up, the off-on switch became inoperative and the only way to reset the camera was to partially remove the battery and reinsert it. After discussing the issue with Canon it was decided that the camera wasn't at fault. I contacted Tamron. It appeared that they were aware of the problem and they advised that I return the 16-300 for the fix. It will be interesting to see if the fix works once I get the lens back.

I've never had any problem using the Tamron 16-300 f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD with my Canon EOS 60D or 70D. Recently I purchased Canon's new EOS 80D. I put the Tamron 16-300 on the 80D and it worked fine with all modes EXCEPT Live View. Taking a picture using Live View would lock the picture on the LCD and render the off-on switch inoperative. Breaking the battery contact and reinserting it was the only way to unlock the camera. Thinking the camera was defective I returned it and was sent a new 80D. Same results...a lockup when using Live View.

My Canon lenses worked perfectly with the 80D, as did a Tamron 18-270 f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD. A call to Tamron Customer Service confirmed a compatibility problem between their 16-300 and the EOS 80D. I was advised to return the lens to Tamron for the fix.

You might want to consider MEFoto Aluminum or Carbon Fiber Tripods. See B&H for complete descriptions. I recently purchased the MEFoto Aluminum RoadTrip model & so far, so good. Of course I'm not a professional photographer either.

Hi Folks, had the delight of hearing Bill Anderson at the Grand Ole Opry House sing his song about how much fun he has getting places. I tell you...it nearly had me rolling on the floor. What a great attitude to have.

Here's a link to the song and enjoy my picture...!
