I have PSE and the Canon suite of photo editing software. But I cannot find a way to do what I think should be simple: Let's say I have four photos taken in rapid succession and I want to keep only one. Is there a way to see all four in larger-than-thumbnail size on a single screen so I can select among them (and then delete the rest)? Is there a program that does this that I should get -- I can come back from a vacation with 2,000 shots, most deserve to be dumped but I don't do it on the fly.

Thanks.

Assuming you are using Windows...

Open the Folder you have your photos stored in,
Left click arrow head (second menu bar) to open the View Menu More Options,
Set the slider to Extra Large Icons,
Compare and delete to your heart's content.

2. Change the default font to Times New Roman which I am used to. Don't want to have to change it every time I type an email.
Thanks

Apparently you can't permanently change the default font in the email program.

I have a Dell Studio XPS7100 that is getting long in the tooth and am thinking of upgrading with SSD (for OS) and larger Hard Drive (for data).

I'm running Windows 7 and am not looking forward to Windows 10, so am considering changing to the UBUNTU operating system. I'm running Ubuntu on a Netbook that I use at the radio station, and it is working really good. It does run faster on the Netbook than Windows 7 did.

Question: Is there a version of View NX2 for unix or UBUNTU? If not, what photo editing/processing/workflow software is available/recommended if I change Operating systems?

Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions.

Mushrooms are being considered as a new replacement for plastic in many, but not all uses. It decomposes. It can be used as packaging and it is grown to specification.

Jerry hasn't replied to this as yet, so I'll ask, "Would these be 'magic' mushrooms?"

Clever idea. And after they collect all that plastic, where will it go?

Jerry, it can be recycled just as much of our land based plastic waste is already handled. In the video, at the bottom of the web page, Boyan Slat discusses the roots and progress of the “Ocean Clean” project he has started and some of the ideas for handling the recovered plastic. As an example, he pointed out that the cover of his publication on the project is made from recycled plastic from the ocean.

A refitted container ship could make scheduled visits to the boom areas to take on recovered plastic, compress it in space saving blocks and deliver it to appropriate ports for recycling.

Used and scrap plastic is being recycled into many products… returned to oil, pelletized for recycling into new plastic for production, synthetic cloth… already.

I really hate being a newbie

I just downloaded some pics from my new D7100. I took some in jpg format and then decided to take some in raw to practice using that post pic processing.

I downloaded them through the SD card to my computer and didn't bother looking to see that ALL the pictures were there. I promptly then deleted my SD card of the pics (as I was taught) and went back to look at the pictures on my computer. It was then that I noticed that I don't see ANY of the pics that I took in the RAW format. I've searched for the extension .nef but nothing shows up.

If I lost the pictures, I'll be quite sad and a BIG lesson learned but it does seem strange that I've downloaded all the pics and only the jpg came over.

Am I missing something here?

Can someone explain why a red tablet pointer does not work on either tablet I own - iPad Air & Dell Venue? I purchased a tablet folder a few months ago which came with a set of 3 pointers; red, silver, and black. Silver & black work fine, but red does not. There is nothing electronic about these. They are simply pen-sized aluminum tubes with soft rubber tips. I can not tell any difference in the flexibility of the tips. Tried using the red one many times without success. Is it the color?

A touch screen stylus is simply a metal extension for your finger, with a thin protective rubber tip to allow a weak electrical charge generated by your body to travel to the screen. The red stylus is apparently not conducting but shorting... internal wire broken or tolerance between the rubber tip and inner metal tip being too great to pass the charge. Color doesn't enter into it.

You can make your own stylus for less than $1.

I've had mine for about 3 weeks and haven't had a chance to click the shutter even once. Just last night, I decided to open the camera and check the body number to determine whether it was part of the sensor problem batch. Unfortunately it was. I emailed B&H and want to return the body for new one. So if you do go for the 26 s check the sensor issue before you take home box.

Quoting http://petapixel.com/2015/05/08/canon-issues-product-advisory-for-t6-white-spotted-sensor-problem/

"(H)ow to see if your Canon T6s or T6i has the issue: look at the first two digits of the camera’s serial number. If the digits are “01” or “02”, then your camera may have the issue. You may have to examine your sensor with a loupe and at a certain angle to confirm (or you can just send it to a Canon repair center).

"As with Nikon’s recent D750 flare issue, Canon has repaired the issue in newer batches of the T6 series. Check your battery door: if it contains a black dot, then your camera has already been healed of its spots."

Thanks Phreedom and Mike D. I was surprised that you guys were similar in thinking date wise. It looked very modern to me but we don't see a lot of them over here so my perception is a little different.

Dual beam round headlights and thin chrome bumper date the car in spite of Shelby's ultra sleek body treatment.

Thanks Phreedon, I think there is a window on front of SX60.
Is there any camera made where the window would be located on the side or in the back of the camera so a wireless remote would work?

All cameras I know of that use the IR system have the pick-up window on the front. From that position the photographer can operate
the shutter and be included in the scene or simply stand just outside of the viewing field.

The RF system can be operated from any position, even with the transmitter held behind you, out of sight or behind something else.

I bought my RF on eBay about seven years ago for $20 and except for the occasional battery, it hasn’t failed yet. The transmitter and receiver are about 1/2 the size of a credit card. The receiver hangs down from a short wire plugged into the auxiliary port under the rubber cover. (See your manual) Depressing the transmitter button 1/2 way will focus the lens and then all the way takes the picture.
