As always brilliant shots - love the last one best. I'm working through your posted butterflies and birds. You are really good.

Thanks for your quick reply. I see your point about the macro. I have just been following a white butterfly around the garden with the 18-110 but it never stopped moving - what a challenge this is. I will look through postings for more of your photos and more inspiration.

Hi, lovely photos. I saw the attached butterfly in my garden yesterday - Striped Grayling. I'm new to butterflies and this is a first for me. Also used Nikon D7000 & 70-300 lens handheld but could not get the definition that you got - need more practice. Do you think my 18-110 lens would do a better job - I don't have a macro lens yet.

Yes, I agree that much of the fun is in the activity of taking photos and the activities that lead us to the situations for taking pictures. I also admire those who donate for charity auctions etc. but my standard hasn't reached that quality yet.

I have just looked at some of your photos and I take back what I said. They are beautiful, your present camera suits very well, you probably don't need another but hey-ho I expect you still want it. I used to have a couple of horses too in my younger days, loved them.

Hi, I recently upgraded to a D7000 from a bridge camera. I love it. The new price for a D7000 is something under 900 dollars and if this camera is genuine then the price isn't too bad but if you buy it I think the present owner is probably expecting a lower offer. Keep the D90, 2 cameras are useful and you have the option of using 2 lenses at the same time. Do I think you need the D7000? Probably not, but I don't know how keen a photographer you are or how well the D90 suits you. However, it is more or less new and an upgrade for the future and I think you want it. I have not found it difficult to use at all although much heavier than my old bridge and with less 'reach' even with the 300mm lens. Good luck whatever you decide.

With my Nikon 7000 last night I used manual settings F11, 1/250s, 70-300mm Nikon lens, ISO at 200 and tripod. Seemed to work OK. Good luck with another try. Ah, spot focus on moon, I think you used auto.
