New Nikon D7000

Hi all, I have just upgraded from my Panasonic FZ45 to the Nikon D7000 and have been practicing new skills. Here are a few of my efforts, some I am happy with and some not so. I was using Nikon's 70-300mm lens, mostly handheld. I need to use the tripod more but not so easy with birds. Criticism welcome. Thanks.

Congratulations! Excellent choice of camera and lens combo. Used it for almost 3 years. Brilliant images as well, keep up the good work, look forward to seeing more posts soon.

Welcome to the UHH ...
Nice shots Trudy. Keep up the good work. Looks like you've got this well in hand. Using a ball head tripod mount might help you with panning to capture those long shots with BIF. Just a suggestion.
Where in Spain are you located anyway? I loved it up near Vego and the Basque area.

Thanks singleviking, Now I have added a ball head tripod to my next birthday list, thank you. We live in about 5 km. south of Alicante city. I haven't investigated the areas you mention, I expect the temperature would be nicer in summer than here.

Vego is on the north west coast and borders Portugal so we used to go across the bridge and buy good sherries and then eat in the sea food restaurants in Vego. I never could get used to the way they party in Spain till late at night though, and the restaurants didn't open till 9 PM or so for clubbing till the wee hours. I'm just getting too old for that lifestyle. LOL.
