Jerry, as a long time Ooma customer, I don't think you'll regret it. For quite a few years I had Ooma Premier. That gave me several lines, an additional phone number, voice mail records on my computer and call forwarding to my cell phone. That was a lot of fun, but after I retired, I decided the extra bells and whistles were unnecessary. So I dropped to the basic.

For most of the time, I used the Ooma wireless option. When I got a new home phone system, I connected the base unit to the Ooma and it works perfectly.

With basic model, can you use existing wireless interior phones? How do they connect to Ooma? Thanks.

Has anyone used the free photo editor "Irfanview"? I found it and am looking at it and it seems to be a reasonably decent editor. It is, of course limited but it should not have much of a learning curve and seems to do most of the basic editing that someone like me would want. The main problem I see with it is a serious lack of documentation.

I have used Irfanview primarily for its flexibility in printing. No instructions, just poked around til I found my answer. I found it to be very intuitive. Can't beat the price!

Okay. No, I will do without a dryer and an iron. I will just look like I walked out of Appalachia.

Hair dryers and other heating appliances usually don't have dual voltage settings so a converter adapter is required. Just make sure the wattage limit on the adapter is higher than watts drawn by your hair dryer. Look for 1500 to 2000 watts or more.

I get mad at times reading news articles. They have so many errors in grammar and spelling it causes me to have to read everything twice. Whatever happened to proofreaders?

Same generation as the writers.

Not the trendy 45, but it is an out of focus 315. That should count as something.

Are you kidding?! They pay an export fee and then an import fee.

They seem to be making a profit. What goes around comes around.

Thanks BurghByrd. Yes I have done all of that except using a pencil eraser to clean the contacts. Someone warned me not to use one. The pencil eraser will create small rubber particles that will land on the mirror and/or on the back of the lens. Instead I used a Zeiss microfiber cloth towel wetted with isopropyl alcohol to rub the contacts.

The pencil eraser will not only shed rubber particles but will also wear through the micro gold plating of the contacts. That would become very expensive to repair. Your solution to use Zeiss wipes and alcohol is best.

What impact is that .? It was all supply demand driven and it still issue .

How about the huge paper losses of retirement investments?. The market is reacting to bad policies and excessive spending.

Prices at the pump are DOWN, why can't you admit that releasing the Strategic Oil Reserves brought DOWN the cost of gas?

How could releasing about a day's worth of oil have any impact on gas prices? It was a drop in the bucket. There were other influences on gas prices at work. Like demand

How hard is it to physically clean the printer ink heads?
I never had one apart.
Or is it time to get a new printer?

I would not attempt head cleaning manually. Probably make things worse. New heads are expensive. New printers not so much. I assume you have tried the head cleaning utility.

And put them I a ziploc bag!!!

How does the plastic bag work? Does it slow or prevent leakage? Or is it just to contain the mess when they do?

I paid $1.02 at Home Depot for a replacement bathroom wall switch just two days ago. It looked exactly the same as the faulty switch.
Should I worry?

Looks from the outside don't tell you much. The contacts will last longer on some of the more costly switches. It depends on the load (in rush currents) and frequency of use. Should you worry? Only if you are selling your house.
