Dale, you were reading my mind.

You did a spectacular job with our capture.
You have excellent advice here. In summery, practice and play with them. They open the eye (sorry for the pun) to extreme close up as you may have never experienced before. Be patient, and take many images, and then enjoy them on your computer screen.
Jerry, I too have taped my password to my desktop iMac. Hey, I'm the only one here to use it, and we don't offer "open houses", so it is my business. Shame on Apple.
Bill
Would you please elaborate on your use of Meike? Is it a lens?
Bill
Do you have other images along the river?
Isn't the popular "illness" (said with smile) called GAS? Like everyone else, I like new things too.
For the record, I am not criticizing Canon or Nikon or any other camera company for the R type cameras. Perhaps just the opposite.
When I purchased my Canon 5DII camera, I saw that it had nearly every feature the very top model possessed. And I felt very fortunate for getting all those features in my new Canon camera. But back then I asked myself the question: Where does Canon go from here? I would be the last person on earth to want Canon to go -out of business-. So they needed to come up with a new "mouse trap" as the phrase goes. And they did. From the comments from my own college students who have used a R-series camera, I've been impressed, for they really like the R-series camera. So I think Canon has come up not only a 'winner', but a way to stay in business for many years to come.
As more people use their phone cameras, they soon learn of limitations. It is my hope that the ones who are serious about their photography via phone cameras, will then switch to DSLR's via R-series cameras. So I not only understand the new products and sales approach, I totally support it.
No, I'm not wanting to criticize R cameras. I'm just curious why the owners have put the up for sale, so quickly?
I'm really curious. Just today, I'm seeing several R-series cameras for sale?
Why?
Okay, time to mix humor with reality. Go to Youtube.com, and enter Millenials. You'll see several, the one I want you to see and to laugh, the one titled YOU'VE GOTTA LOVE MILLENIALS by Micar Tyler. You'll see four images of him, side by side. THEN, get ready to see the 'truth', and to laugh your sides out.

Jerry, you and I are almost of the same 'age'. I'd like to share something with you, and all UHH members who would be motivated to read this. When anyone me my age (and so few do), I will tell them the age of my birth certificate. Then I will add: "My brain does not believe that number, every." If they push further, "what age does your brain believe you are?", I'll tell them 35, 40 at the most.
Do I do everything now that I did when 35? I've cut back on two things: (a) climbing a 40 foot extension ladder, and (b) rollerblading. That's it. I continue to teach, now into my 55th. year, because it is still fun to do, and it is great 'mental health'. And while my students are typically 22-26, we connect rather well before class. Yes, it is a 'mental state', more than a 'physical state'.
