Thanks for the input! I have always used Epson ink, but am afraid of the ink drying up on me if I do not print for a month or so- I seem to print in batches...

You can't fix out of focus photos in PP.

Photoshop CC has a new tool that "WILL" sharpen a photo that has "Camera Shake" in it! Now, If the blurred photo is due to the lens out of focus, this tool will not help! But it works on camera shake!! Quite a tool!! On some photos it is worth the try!

Interesting program. Does it beat the stacking part of Photoshop CC?? in any case I downloaded this for you to try-

The software does not start in the language I selected. How can I change that?

Our software is delivered in German, English and French. The default is set to start in the language of your operating system. If the operating system language is not recognized or supported, the software will start in english. To change the language, go to the menu and click:

„Extras“ -> „Einstellungen“ -> „Sprache“ -> „Anzeigesprache“
„Extras“ -> „Settings“ -> „Language“ -> „Display language“
„Extras“ -> „Paramètres“ -> „Langue“ -> „Langue d´affichage“

Please note, the software needs to be restarted for any changes to take effect.

I have a question using Ink Owl products. IF the printer sits for a month or so with out printing, does their ink dry up in the print heads?? An example would be, lines in the finished print. Even with Epson inks, if I do not print for a month or so, I have to do a bunch of cleaning cycles. I usually have to do a print every now and then to keep the ink flowing! It gets expensive!! I do live in Arizona so we have very low humidity so it is a problem down here. Thanks

There is "No Free Lunch" ! You will lose both light( and you are already starting out at f/5.0) and you will also lose contrast in your photos with a teleconverter! If you have to have the 600mm for reach you will need the heavier Tamron lens. I have had the 150-600 and sold it as I could not hand carry it due to the weight. I did purchase the Sigma 100-400mm and use it with joy, again due to its weight! I do crop a bit more but on a Canon 7D MK II it is a 640mm lens due to the crop factor. One other thing to consider is if you have a crop factor camera, the the 600mm Tamron is about a 900mm + lens and you need a tripod or monopod to shoot with- I do not know how steady you are- but not many folks can hand hold a 900mm lens and get a super clear shot!!

About the Lens Foot Problem, I did read one person was going to use a Sigma lens foot and wrapped one piece of tape around the lens to make it fit; I do not believe this is true as there is "not" room on this lens for a foot to be mounted.

If you do a search there was a lengthy thread on this lens a month or so back. Most (95%) were grumbling and complaining that the lens does not have a tripod foot. Therefore it will be to heavy and wreck the camera. Of course none of them had actually seen or handled the lens. Looking at the lens specs a separate foot or ring does not seem necessary.

I have tree Sigma's that I am impressed with and really want to look at the 100-400. WE have a photofair coming to town in September and Sigma will have a rep their.
I'm waiting.

It started shipping the end of May in the USA. However, I read reviews from England as it had shipped there much earlier by a couple of months.

After shooting, I download the images from the SD card to my MacBook Pro. I create a folder on the SD card for each shoot. Then I drag each folder into LightRoom. When I return the SD card to my camera (EOS 5D Mark IV) and look for the images, I get the message "No Image". The images are definitely still on the card because I can view them once put back into the computer. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance for your help.

One item you may be doing wrong is: you cannot drag photos into Light Room- you have to "import" them- this may be causing all kinds of problems- You did not really state your work flow , but in Light Room you have to follow protocol!!! A must!

I sold my 150-600mm due to two reasons, first - it was very heavy as I have a Canon 7D MK II which is also a bit on the heavy side. The second reason was it was not totally sharp- good but not super good. I did purchase the Sigma 100-400mm lens and gave it a pretty good workout before deciding to keep it. The weight makes it a carry around lens! No fooling, the extra 2 lbs less is quite noticeable! The lens is pretty darn sharp! I did notice that at f/5.0-f/6.3 the depth of field is pretty shallow shooting a focal length of 400mm. I did some bird shots and from front to back the tail would be a tad out of focus at those f stops. Not bad, but the bird was not totally in focus. I repeated my shots using f/7.1-f/8.0 and this cured my problem and I still had a nice background out of focus(bouquet). To be honest, the background was not quite as pretty as my Canon 70-300mm at f/6.3 nor the 150-600 Tamron. This would be something that you would have to decide for yourself! All th eshots I did were at 400mm, ISO 800, (darkish day), and "HAND HELD!" One bird I cropped way down and the bird held its focus perfectly!

Depending on which version of Lt Rm you are using- There may be a box that says"Delete Photos after Downloading". Make sure to uncheck this box. I did not see hthis box in Lt Rm CC. Idid look this up on the internet and found this quote_
"The delete after import is available only when you import a device - a camera, card, an iPhone, but not when you import files from a folder on the system drive.
You can delete the local image files of your system drive yourself, once you have imported the Photos and they were copied in the photo library.
I would never use the option "delete after Import. The files will be deleted until you can check if the files have been imported correctly. If you find out later, that some of the imported files are corrupted and illegible, it will be repeated o too late import, because the files have been deleted from the device. Or worse, if pictures should plant a reason any during the import, all the pictures will be lost, if you have enabled "delete after import.
Check your version for this "Delete Box". Hope this helps!

If you can opt to send the lens back and get the stabilization version DO IT! Shooting at 6400 ISO will give you all kinds of noise in a dark area. If you cannot return the lens( most stores will give you 30 days) then follow the advice above!!

Yes they are still around. In fact I purchased one about 6 months ago. I got mine from Amazon I believe or I know Photojojo sells them. I tried some street photography with it and it drove me "CRAZY"!! When using this thing... everything is backwards- it is a mirror! I had a hard time keeping the subject in the frame.- It is sitting on the shelf!! If I ever get to the point of learning to compensate for the mirror action,I may try it again!! They are not expensive!
