Wow! If that does everything it claims to do, it is a heck of a tool... I have a benro tripod, and they are built like the proverbial brick outhouse!

I am a liberal by any name, but fail to understand why anyone spends money developing tests or meds that no one, but multi-millionaries can afford to use or take. I read yesterday of a drug that works as well as surgery for obesity, cost $14,400 per year. My wife says they have to make their money before the patent runs out which I understand, but how can you make money on a drug like that. It would be something like 15% of the median house hold income before taxes and probably much more for older people who may need it. Medicare and insurance do not cover it, so who buys it. By the way, all those new, miracle migraine drugs are in the same class, $1000 per month, who the H are they advertising to? Something just does not add up.

Good luck and best wishes:
Jim

I can never figure out why drug companies spend so much on tv advertising for their products... I mean, they are prescription only, so nobody is going to go out and buy them because they saw the ads!

Yes, unfortunately. In many cases, there are few choices. If you are having your blood tested, it will go to one of only two major labs that do testing. One is LabCorp, and the other is Quest Diagnostics, and they are both very expensive. Each was sued by the government for overcharging.

I suffer from hand tremors. The neurologist has ruled out Parkinson's, which is a great relief! He said that there are about 40 conditions which could lead to this symptom, and there is only one lab which performs the analysis. They charge a fortune for it, and the kicker is, there is no cure for any of them when you *do* find out!

It's no biggie... Scans show that part of my brain is melting, but it just means a long, slow decline, which is already happening anyway!

There is a Welsh comedian called Rhod Gilbert who does a magnificent rant about trying to buy a single baking potato in a supermarket where they were all packed in pairs...
He has another about the potato he has tatooed on the back of his shoulder - really! Check him out on youtube...

Thank you Mike for your opinion. Oddly, the word, somber, did not come to mind but of course that is the exact word that fits well. I sort of like the photo but wish the bird was looking toward the camera. Of course this way the bird is sort of looking over the cemetery and that would fit the dark mood.

Dennis

That was my first impression - that it was a shame the bird wasn't looking towards the camera... Not a bad shot, though.

When I first got this particular PC, I tried to use my army serial number for a password. Eight digit number... The system rejected it, saying it wasn't complex enough. Then it offered me the chance to set a 4-digit PIN!

I live alone, so if someone gets physical access to this beast, I have far more worries than them logging on to it...

Wow - I had no idea that this thread was still active after all this time. I told the schools that they could stuff my cameras up their... (well, in my head anyway!) I am no longer actively doing photography, due to health issues, and one of these days I will find somewhere to take pictures of my stuff and post it on here for sale.

I am still driving a school bus, although for this year I exchanged the big yellow beastie for a smaller van, and I am transporting special-needs students.

My instructor demonstrated a short-field landing by putting the cessna 150 down across the runway. It does work, but scary as hell!

My email address is in my profile, although I guess I didn't think about whether anyone else could access that...

I am getting digest every day...

Did you check Spam folder?

I found 1 message hiding in there, although why Thunderbird suddenly decided that it was spam, who knows?
Don't know what happened to the others, though...

I checked my filters, and all messages from uglyhedgehog.com are moved into a sub-folder. This is supposed to happen before junk classification.
I have been getting the digest to this address for years, using the same email client for quite a few years - although I seem to remember that Thunderbird *did* have an update recently. Where would we be without computers, eh?

Thanks for the response...

I just noticed that I have not received the digest for almost a week. All my settings seem ok, and all my spam collecting is done locally, not by the ISP.

I guess if there are any replies to this, I won't see them, so can someone send me an email please?
